Still can have a board that does that and more. One you can actually carry around on the walk back up without giving you a hernia , sometimes I think we wants things that makes surfing easier but it won't unless you surf more. For every point someone makes on how good logs are I can give one back on why they are crap.

Can you demo boards from McT in Byron??

Maybe worth having a crack on one in Byron if you can.

I would agree with this one, this is a LB forum. Lets have as many different LB's as we can!!!

If I had unlimited funds I would buy old flow back. Might surf it once a year . Jas you would not have turned theitp so easily on a single, you answered that one. I'm off in the trick now but have a great article for you guys to read on this. Not just logs but the whole retro deal. It's not a bagging on anything just another pint of view. Peace out hipsters

Mate I would have a board like my Splice,rips and cruisers an great all rounder,it will be perfect for Noosa and we are coming soon the SB gang

Thanks for the opportunity, shocking day which has ended up with me doing my tax return so ill take this opporunity to vent a litlle...
I'll bag it retro is gay.. looking retro and thinking your in the 7o's.... Fark off... just put your polaroid cameras back in your leather over the shoulder satchels next to your book on post modernism and get back in your van and keep driving... your trying to hard and missing the point........

my real issue is .....
increased the crowds on the days that used to be oh so much fun when riding a log or LB was frowned upon..

there 2 completely different boards

Noosa 66 is a mctavish involvement on steroids, same piggy type shape just not as refined and pinched as the involvement. Good board if you want that traditional 60s board but not 50kgs ringing wet.

The noserider is a typical yank board from the 60s, big californian tanker. fat & flat. I liken it to a redline but they just have different noses and the noserider has a slight roll in the belly . it will be my next board wit a few changes

Yep, I'm thinking like Stuk too, have an EVO II and love it but I'd like a legitimate noserider. It may be "one dimensional" but I love that dimension and would happily add it to the quiver!

Based on the following from the Wegener article, I'm thinking Involvement -"hips toward the tail"...


"Having hips towards the tail is the key to the ultimate noserider. The hips make the board ride more parallel to the wave. When you are on the nose where the boards is, say, 18 incheswide, while it is 23 inches in the hips, the attitude of the board will be more parallel with the wave thus making you travel faster across the wave. The flatter or straighter the board, the more parallel it can ride. With more width and foam in the back half of the board, there is more flotation and volume. This mass creates more tension with the fin and makes the board go faster. Also, it counters the suction created by the soft rails and lift in the tail."

all i can say is if anyone here is considering an invovlement, TRY A DEMO FIRST!!!. it amazing how many people walk in and go "yer invovlement i can ride that" buy it, take it out, bring it back 2 hours later and its on the second hand rack.

p.s neither the involvement,noserider,noosa 66 are 1 dimensional boards, its the surfer that makes a board 1 dimensional

Spazz why is it that they do that, I mean for what reason. From your insider knowledge of these boards what is the difference to ride say the noserider vs noosa 66 vs involvement.
