I've never owned one, managed our winters in a 2mm jacket or on the odd cold day 2mm long armed steamer.

I'd like to hear what others thing of the spring suit I was thinking long arm 2mm.

I prefer short sleeve springies ,frees up the arms for paddling, although I only wear a springy for a short period of time before the tube suit comes out, definitely my favourite wetsuit.

If you can avoid long sleeves. When I first leave the steamer I use a long sleeve radiator. If I need long sleeves I may as well be in a steamer and be toasty.

I run a short sleeve springy in summer, so good to surf in. Arms and legs are so free!

Also use a long arm short leg at times which is just as good but the short arm short leg is still a winner for me.

A Short sleeve spring suit with long sleeve Radiator was my go to suit until it finally fell apart this winter. Long sleeve rashy underneath when it warms up a little and then boardies and long sleeve Radiator after that. Long sleeve rashie is for sun.
Springies are light weight, flexible, offer a lot more warmth than a tube suit and last for ages because there are no knees, elbows and ankles to wear/blow out!

If u do get one Mac , recomend a custom from Fox at Cooly, not much difference in price,(support the locals) mines held together for years . I always add an extra 20 mm to leg( just above the knee cap)) as they tend to ride up a bit & stops wax rash . There is another custom suit shop in Mermaid which make a solid suit, my tube 3mm is on its 3rd season , which is all I use with a rashie underneath .

Go for it, I say.
Long sleeve springsuit with old-school backzip is my favourite for Qld... hate the long legs on a steamer as we so rarely need them. I like the long arms for minimising wind chill, which is usually more of a factor than water temp for me.
... And you still get to keep the pills happy and bask in a bit of warm wee wee now and then. All good!

There's a few hardy souls in Sydney that are prepared to go all the way through winter with a 2mm long sleeve springy, I have one that I used all year round, but it has some 3mm on the chest and back and I do need to layer up a bit.

Just retired it this year after more then 10 years of service.

My long sleeve Springy is my Summer Suit!

Long Sleeve Spingy is a great choice though... The arms don't add much weight at all... But give warmth, and sun protection...

Ted just doesn't have the balls to handle the cold waters as the rest of us do, he left them deep in a New Zealand sheep
