I don't like the idea,its the last public space on the GC,leave it that way or spend some money on making it more enjoyable for the public.

They should turn Southport Mall into a China Town and leave the Spit alone,can the GC handle another Casino,noway.

They say tourism is down so we have to develop to attract tourists. Australia has been extremely fortunate in comparison to the rest of the world so that people do not understand the financial crisis fully.

The reason tourism is down has much more to do with our strong Aussie dollar and bad economic conditions globally.

The cruise ship terminal is a hoax, it's all about giving away the land to their mates, development for the sake of it and complete degradation of the Northern Gold Coast.

I live on the Southern Goldy but i know if we let them get away with it they will also move onto the smaller other public land parcels.

Leave the area alone for me , only worry I hear is that somethings going down near Kirra is this true CM

I was at the Uni last week and a professor told me that with a nearby development putting the land fill at Bilinga and making a marina with it would be cheaper than carting the dirt any distance.

The good news is that for now anyway they say it's off the table.

But let them get away with one thing and see what happens next.,

I should add here that the professor heard this straight from the developer. Amazing how these guys think and the make money for themselves no matter the cost to others mindset.

It just looks like it'll be too much for an already crowded strip - there's still some pristine spots left up there and you'd think a "not at any cost" mentality would prevail given what's at stake.
Some tourists would come just to see these untouched pristine spots , whilst still getting to taste the developed areas
