So I tried to continue the last thread as it is very relevant to my story, but it's too old so here goes - Sunshine coast this weekend. Had a great day Saturday on my Bonga 91 @ Noosa. Some great little waves and fun for a novice like me. Sunday comes and we decide Currumundi is the place to be. Paddled out, sat out the back for a while wondering if the waves are too big for me. A quite large ones comes barelleing through and I get swept off the board when i go under it. Come up, paddle out a bit further and notice something digging into my leg - look down, and my board has done exactly what happened to a few others on this site - creased right in the middle, and 2 massive cracks on each rail! Very disappointed as this is my only board. I then borrowed a mates board and the leggie snapped on it so a terrible day for me - BUT - my question is - If the place i purchased the board wont take it back - can you fix epoxy boards? I am not too sure about this, and if so - where would be the best place in Brisbane to get it done. I will upload some photos soon of the damage, but just wanted to share and say its happened again!

A friend recently told me to look seriously at southpoint boards. I'm glad I took no notice of him.

Yes , you can "fix" epoxy boards. I'd like to see the pics tho. But thats not good to see this happen

Polsy on the Gold Coast would be my recommendation, his work is outstanding.
Some of the sup's he has repaired are amazing.

Hmm something wrong in the manufacturing for sure.

That looks like factory problems to me, it would of snapped in half but it seems to have a stong centre but decided to split right through the side and lift it up.

I would take it back to the shop with a tube of KY lube and say open up.

Similar damage to my first board except mine creased on the deck with the rails snapped either side. I took it straight back to place of purchase and they spoke with the GSI guys on the east coast. Board was replaced in about 48 hours. Was told at the time there were only about 3 or 4 left in Oz! don't know if that was bull or not but GSI have now removed Southpoint from there product range

Well, I found a brand spankin' new 2008 model for a real bargain and went ahead and bought it... First ride will be Wednesday... I notice some stinger like lines in the epoxy (three of them) running lengthwise across the board... anyone else have that? I can't seem to find any specs online of the E3 sandwich technology anymore, but I think I remember the later models to have some kind of high density pvc stringer stuff in the sandwich... Hopefully they won't buckle as fast...

Jees man I feel for yah.... If its a new purchase, I would try to have it replaced.
I have heard a lot of similar stories about this brand. I would keep clear of it!
