A while back I acquired an old beat up single fin. Its bones were good but it needed some work. Its caused me all sorts of drama along the way and has taken me a significant amount more time than first anticipated - and I also had to get some help along the way as I stuffed a few things up. But its getting close for the unveiling. Just in time for its new home. Remind me tom and I will post some pics of the finished beast. In the end I sanded it back and put a new hot coat on it - tried to colour it but got the mix too hot and the colour ran and left me with an awful finish. After months of feeling sorry for myself after stuffing it up it was sanded back and re-applied. Turned into a nightmare. But nothing some blood sweat tears and swearing could not fix. Fiberglass is such a great thing to play with. Even when you farrrrk things up you can just sand them back and start again. Its a pain in the neck but it can be done.
I can not wait to finally surf this beast. She will come along with me on my next adventure if all goes well.

Nice quote from Simon PH - got any other gems hidden away there?
hahaha gold go hard boy
The tracks mags of the 80's used to have some classics from him...maybe ask the guy who had the collection of mags when we camped at plommer!SB member can't remember his handle! The only other one i aspire to is that Hunter S Thompson classic!
" faster and faster .... till the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death!
A good mate of mine used to fixed dings at Force 9 when he was young - Glasso was the glasser there in those days. I have never met him but have been told by several that he a top bloke. I have seen a few of his boards and like the shape of them SP. The reason I picked this one up was that it was an almost identical shape to one of the first boards I ever learnt on - from memory
Aah memory...that mutable and inaccurate delusion that makes old boards better, waves bigger, and women dirtier. I love memory.
Having said all that, when I jumped on my singly two years ago it was like coming home. She looks like a pearler and a lot of fun. I am sure you will love it.
MickPC said.. haha that's one hefty fin chop...she should come up sweet mate, you'll be ready for this years Cangu singlefin comp
I think it was actually a leg-rope chop - before the rail saver was thought of. I recall getting a very similar ding as a young fella. As for the Canggu classic - hopefully Chrispy will make it over for it
The Drip - I hear you loud and clear. I will most probably hate it ! It will be donated in that case
Another good one was "no image. That's my image" Good luck with it Ted . A mate of mine had a mal off Peter Glasson under the Jungle boards label I think. I had a few Force 9 boards but they were all shaped by Wayne Roach. He made some nice boards. I think he's in Victoria somewhere now.

hope ya have some fun with it ted on the other,if these orders keep coming through like they are,i might stay for a month
Have tried to keep it as authentic as possible. Tried to match the original colour and retained the original pin line. Probably should have taken the fin off first then re-applied after the new hot coat but ran out of time. Still has original fin. I wish I had matched the yellow on the deck better when I fixed those dings. Pretty happy with how its come out though. She looks like a new board on the bottom but not on top ! Looking forward to getting her wet on some nice clean & glassy walls one day soon.
Thanks fellas. It was a lot of fun at times and really annoying at other times. The problem with these old boards is that once you start digging you do not know what you will find - you end up opening big cans of worms everywhere. Ahhhh Anyway we shall put her to the test shortly and see how she performs in the good stuff.
