Should change the story Ted to an old surfer dies and leaves 17 old collectible surfboards to his sons . Much more interesting
Yes good point.
Scotty - I was doing it in parts so you would keep reading

In a time far far away and in the distant future Simondo died leaving his 17 hand shaped Bob McTavish Surboards to his 2 sons and his hot next door neighbour. Most people were wondering why she received any. The sons never questioned this as they also had enjoyed years of watching the shower across the back fence.
When they read the will it read:??My eldest son should get 1/2 (half) of total hand shaped Bob boards;
My next son should be given 1/3rd (one-third) of the total hand shaped boards by Bob; and the hot next door neighbor should get be given 1/9th (one-ninth) of the total boards because she gave me much pleasure.
As it?s impossible to divide 17 into half or 17 by 3 or 17 by 9, the three of them started to fight with each other. I think there was also some resentment that the neighbor would still not put out for Simondo?s two sons even though he had now passed away.
So, they decided to go to the legendary and original Bob McTavish knowledge king (who just incidentally also had a rather nice collection. He was considered quite smart from all accounts and could be regularly seen in the Bells line up (after years earlier getting sick of the Superbank crowds and after falling in love with the new wetsuit heating technology decided to migrate south). Even though Mac was aging he was still a considerable force in the lineup.
Mac - never one to miss a trick - after reading the will thought that the best thing to do would be give Simondo?s 2 sons and his hot neighbour one more Bob McTavish hand shaped board so that there was now 18 boards.
Now, he divided the hand shaped Bobs according to Simondo?s Will - Half of 18 = 9. So he gave the eldest son 9 beautifully crafted Bob McTacish boards. 1/3rd of 18 = 6. So he gave the youngest son 6 beautiful Bob boards.?1/9th of 18 = 2. So he gave the hot neighbour from next door (who he had also spied in the shower a few times) 2 boards hand shaped by Bob.
Now add up how many boards from Bob they have:
Eldest son??..9
Youngest son??.6
Hot neighbor 2
TOTAL IS??.17.
Now this leaves one beautifully crafted Bob McTavish board left over, so Mac takes his board back home with him after watching the hot neighbor one more time in the shower.
The problem was solved
?Moral: ?The attitude of negotiation and problem solving is to find the 18th Bob board i.e. the common ground. Once a person is able to find the 18th board the issue is resolved. It is difficult at times. However, to reach a solution, the first step is to believe that there is a solution. If we think that there is no solution, we won?t be able to reach any!
PS: If you add ? + 1/3 + 1/9, you get 17/18! That might have something to do with it.
PPS: If there is a hot neighbor involved its much better.
