To start with, I have Bells, Rincon, and Winki (uppers & lowers) pretty much wired. And that's why it will be hard to ever move away...

Today, Torquay Boardriders were operating at Winki. It's rare that they hog Winki, but a teny tiny north wind like today cuts up the winki face a tiny bit, but leaves Bells alone.... just a local phenomenon... (double click, right mouse button on The Mac to spell that one! - hell, I struggle to pronounce it!)...

Sorry, I digress... stick in there! Only 2 beers down.... you should hear the dribble after 5 !!

Rincon was breaking nice today. Breaking off the submerged Rincon button rock out the back, and reeling through and linking right through to inside Rincon, to the Main Bells Stairs. Approx 270m rides.... pretty long.... Goggle earth checked.... even longer than Tee Tree, which is about 250m max.... Today, I got about 7 long ones from 8 sets of sets. I had it wired today....

There were a couple of semi angry shortboarders, trying to sneak waves from me... But I was patient, waiting for the right ones, taking off deep.... it was about head high and bit, and that outside takeoff can be a touch tricky when it jacks, and then section 2 and 3 can jack a little, and on the inside shelf, there was also a little jacking action.... I got lucky today, made every single wave all the way through! Snuck around the odd section, but glided through on 9 feet of fun, and connected back with the face... On wave 6 & 7, there were 1 or 2 shorties trying to have a dig at my wave, but considering I was already into cutback number 2 or 3, they had no option for them. I figured I should go in while I was still on a roll... Kind of like retiring after a Grand Final !!

There 1 shortboarder I smoked twice! I was happy because he takes off opportunistically deep at overhead Winki Middles (wide ones at Uppers), and has spoiled a few waves at Lowers with "my name on them!".

But I saw him having a poke at other waves that longboarders were on, and his conscience got the better of him, and he left them alone.... But I was happy that he had a pretty sh!tty session ! What goes around comes around! I must have done something right, because the gods were shining sun on my bum, and dishing up delectable set waves upon instant request!

There really isn't a SUP problem down here. Generally they stick to tamer locations, and small days.... Most SUP'ers here don't have the balls to go out when it's big. And the few that do have the balls, actually know what they are doing. So no problem!

Dean Snow down here surfs Double Overhead Bells Bowl really well, on a SUP.... Tight, top to bottom, round-house.... just great to watch. Takes off deep on the king sets... and makes it (and was never not going to make it!)

If I was to be harsh, many guys, including Adolf/Oliver wouldn't even make it out the back in those conditions. Alicat knows what I'm talking about. She's a hard arse paddler, and even she had to wear several on the head before getting out. Well done Ali! Hats off!

Dammed longboarders

For the record, nobody dropped in on anyone... 3 to 4 set waves per set, and half reasonable stuff in between... so everyone was getting a wave or three... It's just that I was having one of those "conveyor belt sessions"... Get a long one, paddle back out watching others get waves, sit and wait (and recover!) for 1-5 minutes, and get another long one... repeat process 7 times...! Happy days!

Rant over!

That little rant wasn't for you Doggie !! I read your post as a sly poke with a wink.

I leant this a few months ago...
Tobacco Smoke Enema (1750's-1810's)
The Tobacco enema was used to infuse smoke into a patient's rectum for various medical purposes, primarily the resuscitation of drowning victims. A rectal tube inserted into the anus was connected to a fumigator and bellows that FORCED the smoke towards the rectum. The warmth of the smoke was thought to promote respiration, but doubts about the credibility of tobacco enemas led to the popular phrase "blow smoke up one's ass" !!

I might know him by face Doggie, but not by name.... But I'll say no, for now.

What style of shortboard does he like. HP or retro's? I know a skinny little 30 odd year old, who is right into Retro's.

Last board I know he had was a Al Merrick pod.
