Had 2 screamers today. Only head high, but I was locked into pocket. Full steam ahead, no fancy moves, just slotted. Locked in just trying to make. But Winki is kind of an unmakable wave. It's usually only a matter of time before she locks you out. Very very long wave... but as you "tick" each little section off, each part of the reef, there's eventually a part of the reef that says "no"!.

Bastard, we've had virtually nothing but small crap on the Goldy for about 2 weeks. Glad someone is getting something decent! - Mark

Sorry Mac i was just trying to stay positive (and not give simondo to much ammo).
Just quietly, i checked the Cooly BOM stats summary for Nov earlier tonight and 16 outta the last 18 days have been dreaded Northerlies all day (yes that's the devil wind for the Goldy's fabled pointbreaks folks). And there looks like another 5 days of it to come.

Smart man our asea...of course a good surfer can surf anything! The question is whether a good surfer actually WANTS to surf anything.

More "lock & load" today at The Racetrack (Winki Lowers). Plenty of west in the wind, but there were some really clean ones, and most of them were running down the reef really really nicely. A whole stack of waves on offer.

These screen grabs are from the Jan Juc & Winki/Bells Cam

This is Jan Juc Beach with the Boobs / Winki Cliffs in the background.

This is Winki - mid left of screen
Middle Right of screen is Boobs & Steps
On a clear day, you can see The Bells Bowl breaking behind Winki.

This is a general shot. Includes all breaks. Bird Rock is the nearest reef break.

When the camera is on this zoom, you're watching Brid Rock. On it's day, you'll watch guys get slotted in the tube on Coastalwatch, if the panning zoom is coincides with a nice set wave.

OK - time to load up a big wave board today. Double Overhead out there today on the sets. Catch you guys later!
