I have one on order! Looked at the 6"8-7oh range but I am not done with my thick Lizzy. I would ride them in similar waves so I went 8ft, log replacement. It should be more agile than a log, anyways I LL find out in a few weeks

Definitely art rather than just straight up surf video.
I'm so glad we're starting to see more creativity as well as a resurgence of longer format surf videos. My enthusiasm for the couple of minute long highlights reel is just about spent.

Lots to think about there. I have changed over the last few years from a "cull them, kill them all" person to a "we all have to live together" type of person. Without the incessant hugging.
I really found it interesting that he confirms / validates / whatever the shark eyes theory that if they think they have been seen they back off.
I'm sure I would just **** myself, panic, and go 100% (or 150%) for the beach if I had an "encounter"
Was paddling / swimming here a couple of days ago, and there was a juvenile seal on the beach.


As I floated around in the murky, dark, stirred up and rain affected water I wondered
"Does he know a good reason to get out of the water that I don't?"

Yeah Nozza last time I spotted a shark near me I paddled so fast I paddled off the front of my surfboard

Story here few years back made the front page of the paper - 2 blokes out surfing when a seal cruised past - they were talking how cool that was when a great white came up - got out pretty quick
No recorded shark attacks on the coast here - figure it's because there is plenty out there for them

He's the pushing 40's guy with the very latest DHD/JS Industries cutting-edge thruster. You know the one, he surfs like a complete gimp but in his mind he's still 'goin-off' like he did when he was 20. He will proudly never ride a board that is suited to his age, standard of fitness or skill level, (especially his skill level). Driven by a desperate need to be part of "the crew" he travels in packs to Bali, still hangs around the local pointscore in his Bintang attire and always displays the obligatory boardrider's club sticker on his 4x4."
He left out the part about the guy being bald though. This up's the testosterone level and accompanying short fuse.

Why you writing about me like that?

Thought I'd post my latest purchase. Got this Album Insanity asym about 5 or 6 weeks ago. I've always been interested in asyms and with a full quiver and the green light from the missus to order a newy for my birthday I thought I'd go for it. It's an interesting design (apart from the asym). Bit of tail rocker, fairly flat after that but with some late nose flip. Very low/knifey rails but carries a lot of foam all the way to a nice beak nose. Super fast board and as you'd expect it turns nice and tight on your heels (roundhouse cutties have never felt smoother). Foot placement is further forward compared to a thruster as it needs to be bang on the twin fin or a little in front. Anything behind and it slides out. The idea is to be able to turn from the same position as you'd generate speed. It's hard to explain but overall it feels oddly natural and not overly weird, almost thrusterish but definitely has the elements of a twin too.
If all goes well I should be surfing like Ryan Burch and Bryce Young in no time

Sure, why not?

In all seriousness it really was the plan but after doing a bit of research it seems most crew like the Townsend in the chest high+ to double OH range. If I was to replace my Flat Tracker with a mid twin it would have to excel in the small stuff. Plus it's hard to believe I can top my 6'10 McNeill & 7'2 NPJ Duo.
