nope!

I just watched SEWN the New Zealand movie TB gave me during his visit to QLD.

I'm going to rate it a 9.9 it would have scored a 10 if it was Australian Made
Great movie and don't feel sorry for our Kiwi friends.I've only been to NZ once on
my way to LA I never made it out of the airport. After watching SEWN its on my to
do list. The surfing is 3 star at best but what this movie gives you is a history lesson
of surfing in NZ,the landscape goes without saying just like the movies one would say.

So what does Single Fin Yellow have to do with this post, well anyone who has watched will know the story line, its about one yellow single fin board that gets shipped around the world, surfed and them forwarded to the next guy,if you have not seen it do so.

OK,I have many longboard movies in my collection however I feel SEWN would be a shame not to share with you guy's.

So I will pass it onto Chrispy and lets post this movie around the forum.
Only one rule to this, you must post it on free of charge and watch it within a couple of days then re post,on the inside cover I have written mac so you know I have watched it.

ok just finished watching the movie. AMAZING. it is not a surfing movie as such, more of a beautiful story about NZ and what surfing means and what it does for those who surf there. The people they chose to be the "story tellers" truly made the movie so good to watch. the warmth and passion, the diversity of these story tellers was what really made this movie. NZ tourism should really be looking at pumping some coin to this bloke (mr movie maker). now i want to live at new plymouth, the story about the mountains really got me + the waves and their surf club could go on but dont want to spoil it

Your right chrispy the story teller was the french guy in the film at Wellington ,he is now living back in France , It does tell it how it is ,when I come your way makes me realise surf culture aus /nz chork& cheese ,well may be not don't know wheather I like the attude of the young in the water .
The other thing is it didn't have any of the south island at all where there is a very strong LB movment & some of our better LB waves Mungamarnu for one .Just between Taranaki & Gisborne there is a lot of depth in the sport . Also a lot of Austialains came and never left in the early days that molded what we have here today .Pleased your all getting a look

Hurry up and post it over here to Torquay!
Actually, send it through to Torquay in early July when I'm back from Japan.

I'm back from Nippon Land now actually. Had a surf at Winki this morning... Fun little things. Came through Coolangatta, and saw some OK ones reeling through Kirra (Saturday Morning). The Superbank looked fun, but weird out the back... I heard a stack of sand is sitting in the wrong spots... Looked like it was breaking really wide on the outside section, and a little bit of a straight hander through to LM, then reeling better through Rainbow. Far out it is a great bank... Shame about the crowds though. But that's life!

PS - Happy 3rd Birthday to my son Matteo today! He's on cloud 9, he loves it. A bunch of kids coming over at 2pm. Thankfully that's a respectful time to start a beer... Been to a couple of kids b'days lately, some starting at 11 and 12 noon... no beers!

PSS - Single Fin Yellow is a good movie. I was right into single fins when it came out, and I had a 7'0 and two 6'6's (actually still have all of them! ), and I was talked out of buying it actually, because it was about a 9+ single fin... Took years before I actually saw it.

Yeah I realised that after I wrote it...

But did find this site, like iTunes, you can download and save surf movies. Pretty cheap too.

www.thesurfnetwork.com/movies.html

But My GF is a bit of a online anti copyright campaigner. If you know what I mean;)..
so I'll see if she can download a few movies onto disk for me. Any suggestions?

I'm still keen to see sewn so keep me on the list.
