Hi there

Going to to have a go at shaping a board...but first need to knock together some stands on the cheap ie a few lengths of mgp 10 and a few screws...

What do you guys reckon about these ??? They look like they would be pretty stable...

They look a little narrow across the bases. Or add more weight to the bottoms.

They'll do the job, just add some sandbags to the base if they're a bit unstable.

I notice a lot of people these days don't bother to secure the strip of carpet anywhere other than the top horizontal section. They just kind of let the carpet strip hang down like a hammock at the bottom.

You may be able to put a second add on section at the top that's narrower and higher so you can use the same stand for the glassing.

Cheap way is to get two buckets and some quick mix concrete. Jame some 4*2 or bigger if you have lying around As it sets and tie them nice and level. Cost me about $25 from Bunnings and an hours effort.

more importantly - what ya making? A pic thread would go down well

you want your stands bullet proof from moving. If you get those ones I would weight them down as the others have suggested above.

Thanks

Good ideas and will use some bags of potting mix or soil to weigh the feet down.

Going to start by getting a machine shaped blank and finishing it off as a first go so I have a good chance at getting something rideable hahah
