Hi all just move down to the central coast and was wondering if any one could recommend a good longboard shaper.

Have had a a couple of MC longboards from byron and were quite happy with the quality and ride , hoping to find someone down here.
Cheers Cam

Maybe not the central coast but I've always thought pieter up in Newcastle made a really nice longboard.

I've lusted after one of his pig shapes for a very long time.

Nice looking boards obct. I live near Newy and I haven't seen his stuff before. Camsta if you are after a cheaper mal that is well made I have had a Bob Kilpatrick board from Ocean Blue on the Central Coast for a few years and I am hard on boards and it has been a great board. Good buy at $450 new at the time. I think he is about $600-$800 now. Can't find his number but he sells boards on ebay regularly.

Hey mate, not sure about the central coast but in Newcastle, few people around that can make a decent longboard, Pieter is one, I thought he'd disappeared but just found out he lives around the corner from one of my mates, thanks obct. others around town are NSD in mayfield, sheely and of course jye and mick byrnes at surf factory, all 4 are probably with a 5minute drive of each other.

Maybe have a look around some surf shops on the central coast, there are heaps of shops down There and i'm sure that some stock local boards, the guy in toukley has some just not sure of who the shaper was, just remember him saying it was his brother or something. Also there is a shop at I think long jetty that has heaps of boards but don't remember what they had, failing that hit google or there are 2 central coast shaper selling customs on eBay, I'll see if I can find them later.

Thanks for all your replys - had a recommendation to see Sojo at coppcabana
Seems to make a nice board a lot of locals ride them in comps , I need a custom as I'm a bigger bloke and a lot of the rack mals don't have enough flotation.
