A saw this on the PLB insta last night and thought it was cool. Have never heard of this guy. Seems to make beautiful boards and has a lot of knowledge.

Of the shapers I've personally dealt with, Steve del Rosso, Ron Goddard, Josh Constable & Gary Burden I can't say a bad word of any of them, all top blokes in my book.

I have never met 3 of my all time fav shapers (and never expect to) but have had a lot of boards off them in recent years - 10 of them. Tux is a pretty good guy all things considered

At 71 years of age, and with every board still handshaped, Tom Hoye has slowed down but still turns out awesome "shooters".

I spoke with him today and he reckons he is doing the best shapes of his life right now. In the classic Hoye way he said, "I can't put it into words, but I'm seeing them differently and they're just really neat."

I have seen his longboards surfed - never had a go in one - and the bloke (who had only surfed longboards for the last 25 years - including all the heavy reefs of the north and south west) reckoned they were the best longboards he had ever surfed.

The five stage vortex transfer vehicle bottom translates from a 5'10" twin fin to a longboard to a 12 foot gun.

Seriously. There is a 12' gun in the front of Tom's factory that a bloke stores there. I have seen pics of it in use at Margies when the board looks small.

I'm seriously thinking of picking up another blank from Tweed heads when I'm up there in October and bringing it back to Sydney, giving it to a real shaper, along with the HP board I made last Xmas and saying to him, "do what I did, but better".

Get it scanned through a shaping machine and giddy up!!!

I only know one shaper on the north side who can do that, and he's an arse hole

Not sure of it is still possible but you used to be able to scan photos into Aku shaper.

You had to take photos from a few angles and upload them and AKU turned it into a shaping file.

Theres a guy around Manly way a bit of a smart arse at times,but very funny most of the time,he shapes his boards at home and pisses off the people who live within smelling distance.Closet boat shoe owner

you can still do it on AKU - but you use the photo as an underlay (or ghost board) and then attempt to generate the shape file by matching the curves.....or that's how I did it with the free ware AKU

That neighbor now has a mail oder bride, and all the extended family that goes along with it.

And doesn't he cut a dashing figure walking down the street with a loverly young thing in tow, whilst he looks so resplendent for his 60 something years, sporting his ample gut beneath a stained tee shirt and with his pin like legs and knobby knees glistening in the afternoon sun, hubba hubba, what a catch she got, I bet she's positively moist with excitement.

The life they'll build together will no doubt be filled with love, joy and prosperity (for one of them at least)

I should feel sorry for him, I don't.

yoshi from takeda customs makes beautiful boards and would be Australias best laminator without peer

mr Watson from Black Apache, jesse is always coming up with nice boards. Quality made

Josh Dowling is another who has boards that constantly make me go weak at the knees

mr Ron Goddard....how our relationship could have been....i was a frogs dick from being team goddard ...the boards ive seen from Ron up here astound me. AWESOME in big letters

Corey Graham and Greg Brown in Torquay...when 90% of the town are on one guys or the other you can probably guess there doing something right

Throw another into the mix .. Greg Frost from SFD here in Port ... again majority of town and local coast rides his craft. Totally hand shaped and glassed by Greg .. complete gentlemen to deal with. Been shaping longer than I've ben alive (and thats a while ). Some of his customs at present are truly inspiring and just make you want to ride them and buy them

Had a board from Frostie when he was shaping on mid coast near Adelaide around '82-'83. From memory he had found Christianity and hence boards were labelled Spiritfilled. Was a thruster around 6' from memory with swirls of colour all over it and 'totally spun' graphic in large letters on the rails. Must have been lightly glassed as it fell apart. Replaced a Hohensee Twinnie that I bought on the Goldie around '79- wonderful board- wish I still had it!

the others were,,Del,SDR,Clearwater

not sure about longboards but Peter McCabe in Newy is the go to guy if you are after a board for indo !!
