Like Rincon at Bells Beach, Rincon California can present itself in many different ways through the year.

I bought a Rincon, CA "photo" T-Shirt recently, with a black & white photo similar to this colour picture (below). The photo was mesmerizing for Bob McTavish too. He described how in the early days of Longboarding, the guys would only ride the end section in "the bay", and that he and his best mate George Greenough were the first guys to ride "indicators", the upper section of the reef, which is super fast.

This was the birth of the Rincon '68 model surfboard, and the start of shorter boards.

Bob went onto explain how he and George were the tightest of friends back in those days.

It was fascinating to listen to a white haired grommet describing how he and George were the first ride that place.

Rincon, CA;

Add some of your favorite "line-up" shots to the thread maybe.

I bet a house on that point would be worth a pretty penny.

Yeah Ted I just got back from Bali. Hired out an 8 foot soft top and rode a left out the beachie in front of our accommodation. Only rode on my knees but was still paddling and catching waves OK.It shouldn't be too long now I reckon.
For 6 days in a row it was waist to head high and offshore every day. Went up to Gili as well right next to Lombok there were a few good setups there but it needs a lot of swell to break. Just went diving up there and layed around. Also went out fishing and went straight past Nusa Dua. I've never surfed there and up close it's got plenty of power. It was a good 6 foot out there.

Good to hear you had a great trip smh - Lombok is a great place for relaxation and some fun as well.....nice that you are back int the water and that its almost time for you to hit the surf again. Well done with all yr rehab.

Rincon looks almost as busy as Manly this morning at 6:30am - mate sent me this pic with the title "why you moved to the Central Coast" Classic.

Thanks Ted. As for that pic of Manly I wouldn't even bother paddling out. Must be murder on the weekend.

Crowded Manly - yeah, you still get waves but you have to work damn hard!
I still remember getting a screaming right at North Steyne on a crowded day.
One of my most memorable waves out there.
