I spent a lot of time on the road at the end of last year and read three surf related books in just over a week.

1. Elko - I would give this 10/10
2. NC and TC - I would give this 9/10
3. Bob McT - first book. Would give it a 5/10 maybe a 6. No disrespect but after the other 2 it was dull in comparison. A good read but nothing on the others - sorry Mac

If you are after a few other general interest books I would suggest

Outliers - Malcom Caldwell - great book with some interesting thoughts
Keith Richards biography - long but very enjoyable
Boomerang - Michael Lewis - one of my fav authors (you may recall Moneyball) - a good run down of what was happening across the world just a few short yrs ago
Pale Blue Dot - Carl Sagan. Great read.
Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder - Taleb. A story of things that need chaos to survive and thrive.
The 4-Hour Workweek - Tim Ferris. Everyone should read this one - lots of very useful ideas in it.
Why Evolution is True - Jerry Coyne. Lines up the evidence from genetics, paleontology, geology, molecular biology, and anatomy on why we have evolved - stopping the intelligent design argument in its tracks!!

If you want more let me know.

Second that MacRab, good book, very good.

Am reading That summer at Boomerang at the Moment.

It is about Dukes trip to Oz ans his relationship with Isabel Letham. Good so far about one third in. Lots of interesting stuff.

Never been a fan of Phil Jarrett, this may change my mind.

I feel your pain McHenry

Pup I'd love to take a look when you get done...I've got a heap of Robert G Barrett books if you wanna take a gander. My all time no.1 author by a mile, sex, drugs & rock n roll. Many of the books featuring a red headed Qld bouncer called Les Norton. Always a great read, but my fave book was called Davo's Little Something. Which unfortunately I don't have, but I have all the Les Norton's up until about 10 years ago. Bout 10 of them.

Since I'm a child (teen) of the 80's, I was very interested in the Tom Carrol book. But they're still expecting way too much for a paperback, so opted for the farkers book who paddled in front of me at South Point (Gracetown) back in about 1993 & I broke one of my fave boards pulling back. Wave somehow snapped the nose off my board which was one of those light matchsticks popular back in those days. Actually ended up in a made for telly surf vid called "Shut Up & Surf" from that day & would love to get a copy if possible. But anyway, should get Kong's book next week
