What a terrible shame, he wasn't that old.
On a trip to Kirra in the early 80's, watched him slide around with a casual style, getting deeper than most and making it look effortless.
Great style.

Wow, yeah had the pleasure of watching him ride to out at Kirra,great surfer RIP Wayne!...

This is really sad news. He was a great waterman and an iconic top surfer. May his memory be a blessing.

Rest in peace Wayne.
Many decades ago he bought my Yamaha XS1 from me. Too young to pass. Condolences to his family.

Wow, I have one of his boards. Was actually my first longboard about 10 years ago.
Stomach cancer is a really crap way to go. RIP and thanks for a great board.
