Please don't go nuts at me.

I'm simply posting this on the Longboard forum as the incident i had was with a longboarder and because the guys on here normally give the most honest and non- BS answers.

I enjoy riding mals in the right conditions and hold no grudges towards people that ride them but.....

I was out windsurfing in small to tiny surf yesterday arvo.
There was about 5 banks on the whole stretch of beach and the other 4 where to close to flagged areas to be a potential windsurf spot. (it was 20knt side shore too)

Myself and 2 others where out enjoying the break and sharing it with the other few surfers out there. no issues.

This guy paddles out, looks like he's just crawled out of a cave and starts raving on about running people over.
Ok he was on a mal but could've been on any type of craft.

he goes nuts about how windsurfers are dangerous and he then proceeds to start to associate SUPS, clubbies, windsurfers and every other type of craft, besides mals, as pests and hazards.

I was told to loose the sail and go surfing, get the fundamentals and feel the pureness of surfing.

I happened to surf that morning, surf most mornings and have surfed for years.
I KNOW THE FEELING, ****!

My question!

what makes you live your life like this?
this guy showed all the trimmings of a nature loving, "share the waves" type but obviously didn't want to spread anything that resembles "peace and love".

Why does this happen??

i went home and still can't comprehend why and how a person thinks like this.

I know it occurs everywhere, so i thought people might have an insight.

cheers

Mate I've never heard of an issue here with windsurfers,I only see the odd one out when its not surfable too wind effected.

I'd put it down to him not having a good day or he is just a sad arze type,he has no right to judge what is the right form of equipment anyone uses in the ocean,he has the most fun wins and I'd say he lost on that day.

Fletch, there are just some people who believe that their form of enjoyment is the oly form of enjoyment. They are found in all sports, not just surfing.

In the motorcycling fraternity, you have Harley riders, BMW riders and so forth, each one believes their bike is the only pure form of riding. Then you have the dirt riders, road riding is for pussies..... Road riders, dirt riding is dangerous and bad for the environment. Adventure tourers go all terrain, but then there are the wannabes, they wannabe a patched biker, but are too scared so just dress like one. They wannabe an Adventure tourer but can't actually ride well enough, so just dress like one. And so it goes.

Sounds like this guy just has issues and like anyone who is strong in their beliefs will preach them to who ever will listen...... If you don't listen, his strength is diminished.

Shame isnt it, I wonder what he might have said if I turned up on a Wave Jet?

Why does this happen??

in a word - Cronulla

Shameful set of circumstances to be honest - especially if you were out there first and getting along with everyone else before he showed up.

It sounds like a plonker has had a bad day as Mac suggested and it really had nothing to do with what craft he was using. He was probably a terror on the roads on his way to the beach as well. Hang in there JB!

Thanks for the replies.

I couldn't give a ****.
I ride most kinds of water craft, depending on conditions and mood.

Just find it funny.

The guy probably went home thinking he is doing his bit at redding the word of evil.

Cheers lads.
Happy weekend

A dick is a dick no matter what they are on...

Or maybe he walked out the house and forgot to have his morning wank.

But I saw a guy this morning, it was small as I was struggling to catch them on the model T, old mate could hardly stand up or get through the break and had a no pro on the nose of his board. I ask why, I'd be ashamed to show anyone footage like that..

Reminds me of a that saying;

"You can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter".

Maybe this guy doesn't like rolling around in glitter!

Yeah sounds like a total dick...its pretty simple here...if its onshore or a strong crossshore, then its for the kiters or windsurfers.

i want to implement the Hookipa rule.

Surfers go out first, once theres less the 7, anyone can go out.
Once theres less then 7 surfers the kiters can go out.

Once theres less then 7 kiters the windsurfers go out.

JP said it worked well and everyone had fun.

I think old mates bud's must have run out, he was a bit edgy.

truthfully yesterdays dribble was probably left to the surfers, not that yo would call them that, lets call them bobbers.

when its that small but there is still wind you get all the learners. once it gets bigger they disappear and its normally ok. decent surfer may be out but they can respect the wave sailors as long as you show a little back.
