Knowing more people in the line up,does that increase your wave count? I believe it dose!
Also with knowing more people is it cool to drop in on them?Pending who they are, some don't mind others do a little just a little.

It really depends I reckon Mac. Sometimes you can caught up so much in chat that you miss a few waves here and there. When you know no one and you are in full concentration mode you can really increase yr wave count. Personally I love the chats I have with the 3 blokes I normally surf with for the early mid week - we often call each other into waves and let the others know when a wide one is coming and they are better positioned. I find when I surf with my Brazo neighbour on the weekends I really have to be on my game as he paddles for anything and is not so much into taking turns - despite me trying to convince him for 3.5yrs !

Re drop in - no room for that at any stretch. Maybe a bit diff on a crowded point where you can see they will not make it - but on beachies - even attempting to paddle for a wave can send a section down n ruin the ride.

Agreed Ted, I enjoy the catch up with the boys, but when it comes to waves the same old rule applies...unless your call onto one..

Or when someone calls out.."Party Wave"..but I try never to drop in 'cause it's my pet hate...and if it happens to me..well sometimes I'm too vocal for a lightweight

Good question - I think yes to the first

It can help create more space for you and your friends (can you say wolf pack - ala old boys at First Point ) and help get and hold better position in a busy lineup where gentlemens rules seem to not apply so much... hehe..all of which can lead to better wave count I reckon
Drop in on friends......maybe once but not all session...

I much prefer to surf with mates, keeps me inspired and I reckon as a group it puts others off dropping in on ya.

As for dropping in I personally don't care if mates do it to me as long as there's not likely to be any board damage, I treat it as a party wave and usually call them to keep going, as for doing it to them well given who I surf with regularly there's usually no choice if you actually want to get a wave.

Na, new one.

A weird question asked by someone who seems to have been involved in both companies at some point... Think it may have ended badly

Knowing everyone helps in a lot of ways...you know the guys who paddle & miss a lot of waves & the guys who never miss. So you can place yourself strategically or keep your eye on the wave behind the one they're going for...but yeah you can also share a few of the small/mid size ones with a wide fat sharable wall. LB waves are good like that
