I just got back from longy, I’d been in the water for over an hour just north of the pole at no mans land when it started to turn as black as dogs guts overhead and some rain started.

I though I would start walking up to the car park and possibly go in again in front of the shark tower if the rain had thinned out the crowd. I had no sooner paddled across the lagoon opening when the hail started. Just little ones at first but then they got bigger and faster and they really started to sting.

I couldn’t stand it anymore so I just stood there with the board leaning against my back while I tried to hold it in place by grabbing the fins.

I even had to stand with my feet in the water because they were hitting so hard. I saw guys out the back who could not get out to the water fast enough to do the same as me, treading water with the boards upside down.

The misery didn’t end with the hail, everything was like a covering of snow and they were as sharp as all buggery under frozen feet. I just strapped on the board, ripped off the wetty, through a towel around me and got the f#*k home asap.

So where does the food come into the picture? Well, even the car heater running on full blast was not enough to take a way the numbness but luckily I had a heap of leftovers from last nights dinner and even luckier, it was the perfect feed to throw in the microwave.

It was a mixture of chilli beans, potato’s and sausage, I call it Boston Beans, and there it a recipe with the same name but I don’t think they ever intended you to use so much Chilli, chopped capsicum and Mexican beans, I just jazz it up a bit.

All of a sudden I’m back in the land of the living, the sun is out and I’m seriously thinking of going back down for another sesh.

Amazing what a good feed can do.

Another outstanding post from the post master

Wow some extreme weather in Sydney hey obct
My favourite post surf food is Rum,well there's heaps of
sugar in it. Nothing beats an early diner at our local Mexican
or a good old BBQ with Rum source of course

Well obct,it was shocking up here today, the only action I saw was
at a local three way club comp which my son was in.Man it was
1/2 foot dribble chopped crapsville.

All this food talk is making me hungry, time for a rum Cheers

Yeah, I'd have to say that Mexican is probably my favorite.

Not because it's exotic but simply because it fills you up.

I'm not really a foody, I just want to eat stuff that will keep me alive, if it tastes good and may be a bit heathy, then that's just a bonus as far as I'm concerned.

I don't even much like going to fancy restaurants, I'm just as happy to stay at home, whip up a Pizza with some lebo bread as a base and just laze around knocking over a Corona or 2 and burping and farting to my hearts content.

Okay, I'll admit it, I'm a bit of a renaissance man

Leftovers are where its at. If it is good enough to save for another feed its good enough for post surf, cheaper than buying a feed to. I made gourmet steak sangas the other night and made 2 extras for after the next day. Just as well cos I surfed for 4 1/2 hours next day in total.

I only eat fruit before and in between surfs (if its good enough for a couple of surfs) but afterwards a good old fashioned carb loaded snaga is the way to go. I agree with Mac a good stiff rum and coke goes down a treat as well
