Mexico, honestly the dirtiest country I have been to. More so than countries in Africa.

Would never return to Mexico, not even for surf.

Beautiful clip.
My Mexico experience: a daytrip from LA to Tijuana a few years ago, about 5hrs in some migraine-inducing tourist-trap area and a long bus trip back.
I like this trip better.

Cheers for the tip mate, definitely not going now..... can say Tassie & NZ are high on my list of getaways. The olds have been all over the world since they retired 7 years ago & have raved about them (Taz/NZ)

Where did you go in Mexico teacake...I was there in 2001 and once you left Baja behind I thought it was amazing...1000kms of unspolied beaches and waves galore...hardly any human presence at all

Mexico is firmly on my bucket list. Just a matter of finding a decent amount of time off work to spend there. I really want to go down to the Oaxaca / Salinas Cruz region - where did you go Tux? The other problem I have though is that Central America is right there and the chick wants to go there so its probably winning if I had to choose between the two of them at this stage. So Mexico might have to wait a bit longer. JBay is also at the top of my list - can watch the mighty ABs in JoBurg and go on a Safari or two. So many things to do and not enough time . Might just have to take 6 months off work to solve these problems. Yeah that should be the plan! ! !

Hey bro landed in Baja and then hitchhiked and camped all the way down the west coast to the border at the bottom of Mexico then turned around and did it in reverse...caught a couple of 2nd class buses as well.....just basically cruised until we saw a spot jumped off the vechicle and walked to the beach....went back to villages every couple of days to hump water/tequila/flatbread/refried beans back to camp and caught seafood to supplement the diet.....some amazing spots that I probably could find on a map...pretty basic stuff just a couple of us a tent and surfboards for nearly 3 months...points, beachies all sorts of waves from heaving pits to perfect head high peelers.

About three hours past the border Tux. Was horrible. But I imagine there a parts that are just beautiful, like every country.

My favourite places have been Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, all equally magnificent! Above all else I will still say I love Tassie the most, even if I don't live here I would still say that.

Hope to see you all down here soon!

. . . to some place I would rather NOT be now... (Hope the link opens - it's a grab of Pedra Branca from the air - these drones are really adding to the great footage coming through these days.)

makes me miss shortboarding. your never going to get barrelled regularly on a 666. takes a lot of ballsto put yourself in those situations on such a relatively big board.

the most important thing about your new board LL will be the colour design - what do you have in mind?

ted tina did such a good job on the last one- stands out with out being over the top, im going to leave it up to her again.tint bottom, cut lap, white deck.

this board is going to be pretty radical from my log. because of my weight these days sdr is making pretty hardcore size wise. skinny, narrow, rockered, 5 fin set up.

after riding the log in decent waves i decided i need some 'curve' for those waves'

makes me excited and nervous.

steve was pleased i was able to keep the hotlog. he said he had a good idea i would be back for another board so instead of donating money to the hotlog appeal he's discounted this board instead.

ps. i can see myself surfing beachies on a short board again before too long.

why not i say

i'm still blown away be the generosity of the crew. it was pretty tough going there for a while

I am so stoked for you that things have turned the corner. I can read the increasingly positivity in your posts of late. Make sure you do not over do things. Great work SDR giving you a deal as well. Seems a top bloke from all accounts.

When you are back on the shortie we will get you down the coast for some action - its the joyful months of the east coast approaching fast

Aside from the fact you may have a serious injury chrispy, its the perfect opportunity that I can't pass up mate.

Are you a serious disability or a serious liability?
