Rip Curl site says, they're on standby with next update at 1400 which passed 20 mins ago. They might still be humming & harring or frantically getting set up with little time to update the web page. Will havta check the stream at 1500

There's a good swell running, but it might not be quite what they were expecting. Ulu's is big, but not huge. Impossibles is smoking, so swell direction could be good. That area is so hard to call & has tight windows due to tides.

With only 3 days to go I'm thinking it might be on the last day Thursday 10th. Early start with a tide break of a couple of hours in the middle.

Such a big build up

It actually looked pretty good a couple of times like head & 1/2 to double head with like 6 to 12 people out. But was a bit sectiony...guess they only run the comp if its fully cranking. I'm spew'n too, was really hoping to catch the live feed & have a day off Thursday too. Oh well, will havta hope for a novelty wave that day in yet more onshore winds over here haha

Yes it did look good I found it hard to believe they didn't run.

I think there's been a couple of ties over the years when its been good to go but a key contributor to the organization nd logistics of it all couldn't be there. Its always worth the wait though. hopefully I can be there for the 2018 show!

Sounds like something like that happened S69, like Mac said it was cranking several times within the planned timeframe. Personally I think they thought the grass was greener on the other side of the horizon expecting even better waves that didn't come. Same happened here on the WA coast enroute to Bali. I did a few trips expecting novelty waves to be working coz its been so stormy & windy. But the swell just hasn't kicked enough to ignite them...reckon they should be less fussy in future, coz the waves would of been epic viewing for 99% of us non spoilt people. Bloody Rip Curl CEO's have had too many trips to the Ments & stuff. Should of put more consideration into the all stars that had made their way to Bali & waited patiently for the starter gun.
