Had a look on-line and and couldn't find an exact answer.

But from what I can gather I don't need a licence for rock/shore fishing in salt water, is that a correct asumption?

"In addition, you will be required to have an RFBL where
fish, crabs or shellfish are taken by wading or other nonboat
based activities, but where a powered boat is used
to reach your immediate fishing location. You must be
prepared to produce your licence when requested by a
Fisheries and Marine Officer."

I just cut & pasted this (you've probably already seen it) - I would still check when business hours open during week just to get assurance , not worth any hefty fines & hassles mate.

cC- no you do not require a licence for shore based fishing in salt water, unless as noted by Pup above that you have used a boat to get to where you're fishing.

If you want crays, abs, marron, trout, even feral redfin perch the you will need the appropriate licences.

Your timing looks perfect......the easterly winds will be your friend!! Hope u have a wicked time - I love it over there. Loads of great waves everywhere just watch out for the big fish. If you are feeling hungry stop in at http://www.saracenestates.com.au/Home.aspx for a feed. And if you like cab sav I could not recommend Moss Wood and Cape Mentelle more strongly!!!!!

This might even come your way as well

Maybe on Sunday, might head up early, kite on the say up and head out but we're probably closer to Freo than Perth. In short - not sure, you still have my number on file?
