Also remember that the World Wide Population was roughly 1.7B in 1900, and is roughly 6B now.
I think Australia was about 4M and now 23+M...

Edit: side topic - population growth... A lot of smart people expect that out world population won't go past 7B. Western Countries are entering into slight decline, topped up with immigration... China and India is meant to hitting a threshold too... Africa is starting to understand that less people is better... Aids will surely contribute to their population decline also...?...

And basically, I firmly believe that the population level needs to get back to 5B, then 4B...
