In comp is this restricted to 60s traditional or is it the modern retro boards

if its an old mal event its 1967 and earlier boards only and must be over 9'0

usually some comps have like a logger comp which is where old mals and modern mals can enter, although i belive the rulling is the modern boards must have a single fin, and no hard edges on the board

Yep BS..a mate is into that and ..no hard edges..and think he might have said no fin box either

I was going to put a 2" tailblock on my KD (8' 10")..but why bother..so a finbox really stuffed it up (didn't come with a fin)...But who gives a rats..not moi, until I go to unload it..

I couldn't imagine the comp nazi's would worry about the fin box if you have an old style D fin in it. Then again I could be wrong, some take it pretty seriously.

yer i believe some comps even ban or frown upon leg ropes also. Althought apprently for insurance purposes leg ropes will have to be worn possibly in the near future

Thanks guys, that's what I wanted to know just doing two new mals 9"6 and wanted one for comps .. Logging so will be a modern mal but old school no hard edges I was going to go down the road od a hp board but just too lazy these days
