has anyone surfed or been to Nusa Island PNG
I've been told good longboard waves to be found

Weiry, I spent 10 days there at Christmas (pics above) there are a lot of longboarders go there as the waves are not heavy or big. I felt shorter boards offer more (I took 8fters) which allow to surf a little more in the pocket but whatever you want to take will be fine

It is a great place, can get a bit shallow on low tides but winds allow you to surf all day with no crowds.

Yes, great spot, good waves, I went in 2009 using World Surfaris

If you get Long Longs (I didn't get it at a decent size) it is THE longboard wave.
The resort has a break for almost any swell.

Google Kavieng, PNG the surf site is under the approach to the airport.

I took a 9' 2" board and the PNG planes handled it well.
Watch out for connecting flights on Jetstar and other airlines that restrict cargo to container lengths, 1.9 metres, I think.
