Had a surf with the young fellow a few nights ago . Waves only a couple of foot and fairly blown out . No one else out except for a couple of surf boats practicing their beach starts .

Anyway the young bloke catches a wave while I am not watching and plows straight into me .
Result nice ding under the nose of my nimbus and a crack all the way around the front of the young fellows egg .

Young bloke turns and says to me if Ronny had made me a Fire bolt instead of a Nimbus 2000 no damage would have been done . Hahaha .

Yea pretty well Mac , managed to patch them both up but obviously my patchwork is nowhere near the same quality as Arkgees .

Probably my fault for not whatching what was going on Jas . couldn't get angry with the little prick anyway after his smart comeback

Not sure who has right of way . When paddling back into the line up if somebody has just popped up right in front of you I guess it is up to both to avoid a collision Not a situation I get to often down here

Haha, where is that lad these days? Back to 666'ing?

Yeah tis a hard one even if the one on the wave is usually responsible in avoiding collision. Mate, I am sure you're repairs are much better than mine if you had seen some pics of a repaired fin plug with fibreglass still sticking out and the fin basically glued on forever

Pending where you surf,we paddle wide and around to the back of the line up.

also the guy taking off should do so in a safe manner.

I reckon if it had been Scotty on that board of his that hit me , rather then my 10 y.o who weighs in at about 30 kg on his 4, 9 egg , the Nimbus would now be RIP , and possibly me with it

Ground him. Doesn't matter who's fault, you need to teach him if dads near it, leave it for dad. cause he was obviously on the inside and up and riding... So sounds like he is out paddling you already
And also Maybe remind him who's buying his boards.

But seriously, bad luck, nothing worse than dinging a new one.

Good to hear from you Pup .

The Nimbus isn't too bad a hole about 5 cm diameter under the nose on the pin line , plugged the hole with resin and fiberglass .
The egg is not so good a nice crack right around the front . I have patched it same with resin and fiberglass for now so he could use it on the weekend . It probably needs a sheet of fiberglass laid over the top of it all
But I am thinking this may need be the last time he hits something
