Swellnet have finally released their new website and its associated new tools that Ben has been talking about for a while - including 16 day forecasts. I do not think I will bother with the pro version as its more than I really need these days.

Anyone going to give it a go? If so I would be keen to hear how you get on with it and if you find it fairly accurate. The normal combination of tools that I use gives me about 4 to 5 days - which gets me through most weeks ok. I find SB is very very good for this part of the coast. These days the wind forecasts are so much better and SB seems to have these nailed.

Absolutely not !!!!!! If anything a pimp for SB - for the record I have no financial relationship with swellnet - in fact most people here would know that I pay out their surf reporter on a regular basis I just know that there was a bit of debate when coastalwatch launched their pay per view service and I was wondering if anyone was going to bother this time around. Realsurf has been raising money through crowd sourcing of late. I wonder if SB will ever go down this route. Lets hope not. In recent times we are starting to see some of the major players trying to monetize their e-businesses (at long last some would say) and so its of no real surprise to me that some of the surfing websites might attempt the same. I just wonder how ti will go for them. If it fails I imagine it will be the death of them as they will lose all the traffic and find it hard to sell advertising at reasonable rates.

Edit - plus I like new internet toys !
