What the general feeling about having a new forum for "Taint surfborads" ( as Tankchamp calls them, boarts that taint this and taint that). For surfboarders that have big fish, foamies, and any other surf craft that is not a Mal or Shortboard?

I have had excellent quick replies to all my topics on both existing forums, great place to hang out on line, but I feel like most of my posts are off topic which ever forum I post to.

Thoughts?

Kadil,
maaaaaaattteeee to much thinkin not enough sufin you can get an answer to any question you want in the longboard forum whether its who you would like to punch in the head? what beer is on special in any given state at a given time, I think another forum would be a hassle, you sort of answered the question yaself when ya said you have good responses from all forums IMHO

the 8' to me (7S) is my hotdog board, you cant nose ride it like the mal and it will not turn like the shortie, turns are more arked out / flowing and it has that bit more speed when the wave gets a bit of grunt, could be different to someone else but thats how I find it with my style. the 8' seems to sit in no-mans land, in the line up you don't see to many of em

I think a lot of it is relevant to the size of the surfer, when I had the 8 ball that Chrispy has got now I was roughly 95 kgs to me after years on 9 foot plus longboards mostly on a 10 foot redline it felt like a SB not that I can really remember what a SB feels like my 60 kg whippet mate across the road could surf it like a HP LB he could even noseride it for short periods of time

Excellent, then I won't hold back from posting on this forum.

I noticed a few marks, chips on the end of the swallowtail (epoxy board). Must be from when I very occasionally stand the board on end to pop the boot. Question is, are these boards hollow, will the leak or get ruined if it leaks. Should I patch, sand & paint over the marks? I think a couple of small self adhesive rubber pads sound like a more permanent option.

What do you recommend?

I lurk between the LB and the SB forum and get the best of both worlds!!!

Kadil - the damage is very superficial and not worth 'repairing' unless there is a definite crack. Smear a little wax on it if you are concerned about it taking in water.
