Haha. I guess we had a big hole to fill with the extension and I had the materials so it came down to proportion. The tops are out of a science lab from the 60s. Traded a demolition contractor a 12pack of wine for them from a refurb we did. Took me 20hrs to belt sand off the original two pack.

Going to make a bench seat 2600 long on the one side of the kitchen table.

Mac you have any kitchen benches at Biku. If so could you measure one. I'm keen to figure out a width of the actual seat. Thinking 400mm to 450mm.

I hope your going to keep the timber natural, however one fine coat of clear to stop water marks is recommended.Kitchen stools go for 45 x 40 or 50 x 40 or even 40 x40,pending on how many stools you want to fit the bench top.Good to see you can tuck the 3 chairs under your table so many designers get this wrong when making a table with recessed legs at the ends.

Mac are you talking about 40 high with those dims ??

I think the bench will be 2600L x 40W x 40H.

Bit concerned about 40h with a 760 table height. What do you think ??

Used a water based product from Mirotone.

The 8022 for the sealer and the 8060 for the top coat. It has a matt finish. Then I did a wet sand with some Scandanavian Oil to finish it off.
