Picked up my new board yesterday.

Munro 9'1 X 22 1/2 X 2 3/4
Concave to double V.

The board has some Carbon Fibre Rods which apparently doesn't add any real strength to the board but takes out some of the flex. You can see them being the black lines out near the rail on the bottom.

I am going to leave it for another week to cure before hitting the water. Can't wait . Here are some pics

Mate thats awesome. I was down talking to Brett a couple of weeks ago and he's just the most genuine guy and easy to talk boards with hey. In my opinion his boards are in the top 3 in this country and you will be stoked with yours if I'm sure.

Yeah your right Billboard, I didn't know Brett beforehand but just walked into the factory while I was on holidays. He came out with his sanding mask on and we talked boards for half an hour. He is a laid back guy - no hard sell.

He lent me his own board to try and it went unreal. He guarantees all his boards and if you don't like it, he says bring it back and he will make you another one. Sam with the fins. I like the cut away style but at 7 1/4 inches it might be a bit small. No problems, after I tried it a few time I can go back and change it for something else.

Daneli,did you buy the board as an alrounder or performance board and if you dont mind me asking what's your weight

Nice board ,nice rocker and nice colour too. You'll stick out like dogs balls out there. I 've got those rail stringers in mine as well but they're timber. I was told a similar thing about flex and strength and it makes sense I guess.Too bad bad you gotta go and spoil it all by putting wax on it.
I had a similar fin set up on mine and put a shorter back fin in with bigger side biters and it really livened it up. Nothing like a new board.

Hi Mac, I'm about 85 -87 kgs depending on what I've had for lunch.

This is my only longboard and I guess I was after a board for better waves as when the surf is small or fluffy I will go out on an SUP. I won't take an SUP out where there is any crowd and that's usually when the surf is good and I felt like I was missing out on those days. I haven't surfed for a few years after some shoulder problems which I hope are fixed now.

I tried Brett Munro's board and was really happy with it in a 2-3 ft mellow beach break. My board is not really any different only I picked the colour. It even has a very similar cut away fin.

I tried a McT Original but it had alot of rocker. I can see why it's rated a very good beach break board but I think this would be a board to add to a quiver. I looked at the Fireball which I know everybody rates but it just seemed alot of nose and alot of board for what I was looking for. This one seems to be in between so maybe mine is an all-rounder. Maybe if my shoulders are OK I might get a Fireball as well for those days instead of the SUP but to be honest I like the all over workout I get on an SUP and it gives me more water time.

I have in the past had alot of boards at one time but usually I end up with a favourite that I use all the time regardless of conditions. I'll see how the shoulders hold up over the next few months to determine if I add to it.

First impressions I am very happy with it.

I probably have not had the quality wave time to really test it out but on a couple of fat but sizeable beachbreaks I was surprised by it's speed. I am also still playing around with moving the fin and don't think I have hit the sweet spot between turny and drivey.

Also haven't had it in a steeper hollow wave yet to see if it get's me into trouble but it paddles well and is pretty stable. More importantly it's got me enjoying surfing again. I have been busy at work and missed a couple of swells at the points. Now it looks like northerlies for the next week

Very similar to the UFO landing,between lack of quality waves and a couple of pressing issues of late,I have not truly tested it but do like want I feel and cant wait for a nice swell to hit,nothing epic just some fast down the line @ LM and not the fat rubbish being dished out of late and this weekends looking sad as well.

Well if you see me out there (LM) don't forget to say G'day.

Dont worry about that Daneli,some of my best moves are forced dismount mode.

Just DO NOT talk to asea in the lineup.he will drag you into a conversation and then he turns and catches the bomb,bloody cagey bugger that asea.

Round two in afew weeks I want to fine tune a couple of things to shut the boys up
