Looking to get a new Mctavish longboard, thought I would tap into the knowledge pool here... I surf Sth Oz sth coast; full, slopy, slow waves. Have a 9'2" McCoy single, reliable but unremarkable, and a Surftech Billy Tolhurst 9'6", fast, fun, but low volume, slow to paddle and not a wave catcher, so usually use it with single fin, which somewhat defeats the purpose of a hp longboard.... Looking for a good allround board, easy wavecatcher, still gets speed in ordinary surf. Like the look of redline, but may be too retro... Any thoughts? Thanks.

The Redline or EvoII would be good for.

EvoII is obviously more performance orientated, but you can still hang around up the front...
Both boards will trim very well.
Give the shop a call, and talk to them, tell them your weight. Remember, most of the year you are probably in steamer, which add at least 3.5 to 4.0kgs (wet wetsuit)...

Get some tints, and post the pictures!

This board it particularly versatile. 9'6 Single Fin...
Ask for a Handshaped Occasional Pin... from Bob.
Surf great in knee high conditions. Trim speed is excellent.
Punchy shoulder high, and it fits into the pocket really well.
Overhead, and the pin tail still handles the juice...

If you are ordering a new one TB does that mean you are visiting Oz again soon

Nice to hear that the kneelos are finally showing you some respect....and that the board is going well. Why then the need to replace it? Or will this be joining the quiver?

If it has to be a McT evo 2 is a good alrounder but the oldest model the Original is also a very good board often overlooked. Pretty loose for a 9 foot board and good all rounder. The guys will steer you in the right direction.

The Original - I agree, this model is often overlooked...
