Hi Suzie, welcome aboard...

I looked into this a few years back for my daughter. These caught my eye at the time
but I ended up getting her started on my own mini-mal. The 7'2" looks like a pretty good starter for someone your size.

If you get serious about surfing you may have to upgrade the car. There will be times when you will need to carry more than 1 board. When you get better you self you might add to your quiver, and then there are friends, boyfriend etc. boards to carry.

hey there, I used to use soft racks when I had a 2door car and they worked fine with my old short board - 2 doors generally have heaps bigger doors so you can get the back one way back..

Unfortunately, I've found soft racks not as successful since getting a bigger, heavier surfboard (now on a 4 door car) and the roof of my car actually flexes a fair bit and the board bounces around when going on the highway with them on.. The board's definitely not going anywhere, but it's something to be wary of when purchasing, I can't imagine it's real good for the car.

I'm about to get permanent roof racks, definitely the way to go for me.. Some cars (like mine) don't have the tracks in the roof for racks, not sure about the coopers, but if they're not there you have to get them permanently installed if you want racks.

Well done for getting into surfing though - great fun!! wont be long and you'll be completely hooked and getting yourself a van anyway, problem solved!

I bought my partner a Walden Wahine (9' - she wanted a longboard) for x-mas a couple of years ago - she loves it comes in three sizes (7', 8', 9') and pretty girly colors and flower prints.

Just out of curiosity does the Mini have a sunroof?

hey Suzie, I reckon you should rethink surfing. I doubt its for you.

Your profile says you are 16 but you have a mini with a sunroof - shouldnt you head back to face book or something? Thats the place for little white lies and pictures of girls kissing each other -

Are you gay??? There should be more chicks in the water. When ever there's a few chicks in the line up there's rarely any agro.
This is a surfing forum, where people get to ask for advice and recomendations from people who know. Dont take any notice Suzie or any other newbies for that matter. Hope ur out there soon

open sun roof stick surfboard in - just don't go over 80km/h

Don't take notice of Chermark - the line up would be a better place if people with that kind off atitude didn't participate

On another note did you get a board yet? What is it (if you got it)?

At only 7'6" long, there'll be lots of cars to choose from that the board will fit into.

It's heaps better than carrying it on the roof if you're by yourself.

Did you get a board bag? nothing stuffs upholstery and carpet better than melted board wax
