Nice board - is that a custom job?

I am new to this forum and notice are a McT fan. I am looking at stepping up to a larger board from a 7'6 and was thinking between 8 to 9. Any thoughts as a intro longboard by McT.

Hi mate and welcome,yes its a custom 9.3 x 23 x 3 UFO outline with Evo 2 rocker.

Mate I would go with a 9.1 in length coming from a 7.6 and width and thickness to suit your weight.
Go for a thruster set up user friendly, something with a rounded pin tail, dail up www.mctavish.com.au and look at either, the UFO,EVO2.

Cheers thanks for the advice. I have stepped out a couple of times on an old heavy 9'8 and found it hard to trim unlike my 7.6. Due to my weight I couldnt position the board on the face and just kept droping down the face like a lead torpedo.

Those things are beasts to ride, best to start on something user friendly.

Mate get on the phone and speak with Dave English at McT,tell him where you surf, type of wave and a little history on your surfing he will get you on the right board without any pressure.

Nice Mac, very nice, like the green/black over the red/black art you used to have.
Can't wait to see it in the flesh. The splice for example, looks so much better close up.
