Here is a custom made for a friend of mine by another friend of mine Grant Miller. As you can see it came out unreal and the pictures really don't do it justice. Grant started out at Hot Buttered Surfboards back in the late 70's. He had to dig out an old template as well as find the right blank to create this gem.
The board is very true to the era with plenty of foam up forward under the chest and pinched wings on the underside and deck line. The bottom has a deep single concave running into a double. The rocker is true to the era as well.
This board is typical of those coming out of the Hot Buttered factory in 78/79.
The airbrushing was done by Martyn Worthington who has worked with Grant since that time and is recognised as amongst the best in the business. Another feature of Grants boards is the glass jobs done by Steve Zoeller who is one of the best laminators in the industry.
The board itself was made for good waves head high and up which are hopefully on the way.
The board is cured ready to go and the owner stoked.
Grant makes great boards for everyone to ride and being well travelled they can be found anywhere from Indo to Mexico and anywhere in OZ .I've had a few off him and can honestly say I've never had better boards. Grant offers a unique service to customers taking ample time through the ordering process to ensure each board is right. The boards are Australian made.
I'll be putting another board up made for my son in a few weeks. Enjoy

That's an absolute gem of a board there smh! I am sure the new owner can not wait for the weekend for that esterely swell to start rolling in - I know I can't either! I had a GM Waterskate once - first board I ever purchased in Oz n loved it. Left it in NZ n a mate now uses it for taking his kids skurfing behind the boat. Still alive 14 yrs later

Great stuff!
And what about this, from his website:

Grant Miller, Ujung Bocur July 16th 2012 -- Excerpt from diary : "woke early, surf big. Triple to 5 times overhead. Only a few guys out but not many taking off. Paddled the 7'6 off the corner and out with dry hair and straight into a real big one on the outside. Dropping down the face felt like ages with a huge roar behind me, full power off the bottom and up high flying free. Fade back and then out over the top screaming. 3 hour session, no falls, a career high point at 54".

Thanks guys for you comments about my new board. Took it for its maiden paddle this morning in crappy surf. Easy paddler can't wait till the swell hits this weekend.

This is my third board of Grant and again he has made me a another gem, first class service and excellent quality. My previous boards are an 8' Powerglide and a 7'8" Waterskate which i still ride both.

Any big fellas looking to come off there mals, Grant is the man to see. When I purchased my Powerglide about 5 years ago I was pushing 130kg's and was riding a 10' longboard and my mate SMH (thanks Sean for this post and the pics) put me onto Grant and I couldn't believe how good the PG went with a fat bastard on it (that would be me) It improved my surfing out of sight.

Check out Grant's website.

Cheers
