More crowded than Sydney too

Looking like being a cracker of a weekend around here and the next few days should throw up a few waves, hopefully heading north tomorrow to get a few before the crowd, looked like school holidays had already begun here today.

I'd say scotts head is the most well known on that bit of coast but there are plenty of other spots around there. No hints thought, half the fun is finding them.

That's true. When we first got our drivers licenses we would head either north or south armed with a road map and pull into the most likely places and dirt road turnoffs that would sometimes lead to nowhere. That is half the fun and the rewards are still there if you look hard enough.
You won't get many people giving up secret spots on this or any other surf forum Martman.
Get out there and find it.

Having travelled that coast a fair bit over the last 11 yrs that I have been in the lucky country I can think of several quality right hand point breaks before you get to Scotts.....not too mention some unreal beaches that can resemble a point on a good day and lots of reefs as well. It truly is a magnificent piece of coastline and Autumn is my pick for exploring the area..happy hunting!!!!!

Same, as soon as we got cars we were off, mainly north for us though all the usual spots but as you said most of the fun was driving off the highway and just looking around and seeing what else was around. Still go to a lot of those spots today.

Can't wait to head to one tomorrow...

I tend to go south because I'm on that side of Sydney but hoping to do a mal trip to Crescent and surrounds around August. There's usually few people around and it's offshore most of the time. A day trip to Scott's Head is usually the norm on a Crescent trip. Nice wave.
Before we were married the missis and I used to go to Yamba a lot and stay with a friend. That's a good place to go for a surf and fishing trip.

Thanx Guys plenty of inspiration there
Ill likely hook into scotts and moonee north of coffs and pull into some secluded hamlets in between cant wait , only have a week though

Three weeks ago my surf buddy/ neihbour and I headed down to Ulla dulla / mooymook for a 4 day weekend
We trod some well worn ground and had some nice waves geared to the wind and tides The locals were loyal to their break as expected but generally cool
That town has a nice vibe A big thanx to the helpful tips from the staff in Bush surf that helped to get us started
All the best guys happy Easter and cranking waves oh yeah
