Lads I managed to speak for a while with our Brother today .....
He is in a bad land right now , and will not be contactable for a while but he has asked to post this up to thank each of you for your friendship & all the chat during his time here , which stretches way back to the year 2005.
He sincerely appreciates your well wishes and the messages of support after his farewell post in this forum - our much respected brother wanted me to pass this on!
I have tried to let Brother DUDE know that we are here for him , and at any time of the day if he needs us in any form , he knows this much.

DUDE ..... Brother , mate - call me any time if you need anything and please look after yaself , be good to have your posts to read once more ... I'll come looking for you at the end of the year as i promised mate - ok? .... oh and cheers for the Belly laughs it's been a Gas!

You're one Rooster supporter I like - and prob the only one. Ha,Ha.

You know the Roosters vs Bunnies rivalry goes back to 1908.
I enjoyed our banter.
Hope you are back soon champ.
I'm sure SP will keep me honest and Ted's weighing in lately. Go the Bunnies

"The Second Inaugural Ripaquikbong Intergalactic Worlds Title Comp"

The comp is an invite only affair.

Invitees will be a mixture of....

Kooks
Gumby's
Misfits
Fat,over forty,unfit,****ed up middle age men trying to relive their youth
(you know who you are).
Malcontents.
A fair few village idiots.

Entry fee...

If you don't know and it has to be explained your not invited.

Judging....

Will be made up as I go along.
(Judges are open to bribes,Yes I am the only judge)

Contest and rules...

Both to be made up as I go along.
Judges decision is final.
(It can only be change if a better bribe comes along.)

Rule1;See above...
Rule2;Did you read rule1!!!.....
Rule3;****ed if I know........

To be held in what ever wave conditions I deem best for me to win.

Any excessive claiming of waves or hooting will be dealt with 1970/80s style grom abuse from other contestants.(Judges exempt).

Any invitee not seen in the Ripaquikbong Intergalactic Worlds Title Comp HQ tent
at least once during the comp will face a penalty of either..

a;Full nude beach run....(female contestants only)....(bonus double points)
b;Skull a warm beer....
c;Perform "spit the winkle"...........

Contestants who do not leave the tent during the comp will have to perform all three.

At some point all contestants will be expected to surf,regardless of condition.....Failure to do so...see above.

Bonus point for any blood spilt during the day.

Prize...
Crowned........

Ripaquikbong Intergalactic Worlds Title Comp Champion

(That's it...there is no crown,no money...nothing........
(**** what did you all expect I made this **** up))

Entertainment on the day will be....

Any contestant that survives the tent and makes it to the surf and back.

The guy in the g string.......Yes the chrispychru is expected to make a showing.

The guy who will show up and make an asshole of him self.
(You know who you are) <<<note to self.

Special musical guests.....

Singing some very bad songs and out of tune ............

^^^^^im with you on this sp... there is a reason that the beer movie is being made(thats what the wife calls it) and dude you are a part off it...why is it happening,because the beer garden is filled with cool mother ****ers ready to have a go and help out the crew that makes us smile....and laugh. there is only one dude...yet we have THE DUDE

Yes, we miss the dude, he was eloquent and witty and had a sense of the absurd, but as much as we miss him, is he really doing the wrong thing choosing not to continue with this, or any other social media type?

Perhaps he's doing exactly the right thing.

There may a very modern saying for what he's doing:

“Don't feed the troll”

But there's very little that's modern about the concept conveyed in that line. I think it was explored by the Ancient Greeks some 500 years Before the Common Era.

The central tenets of idea being that, if you are a vindictive person, and you continue to pursue your victim well beyond what would be reasonable, and you continue to carry that vindictiveness for the rest of your life, and the person that you perceive as your victim simply forgets and moves on, then you become the victim of your own vindictiveness and your victim become the victor.

This concept of not falling victim to vengeance could be called a type of “limit of emotional liabilities” and if you scratch the surface of many of our Latin based systems of law; you can still see evidence of it. Hey, let's face the fact; if the Romans needed a bit of culture, they just pinched it from the Greeks anyway.

It's interesting the note that people with this very vindictive personality can often also be considered narcissistic.

it is a good post and makes sense, filling yourself with the need for revenge or hate can't be a good thing, being angry at the world can only make you angry with yourself and then who is the winner??.

I always liked the real surf motto.

" stay happy and you'll be perfectly fine"

But that doesn't change that when people screw you over you want to **** there Shiz up, that is just in a human nature.... And let's be honest some people deserve to be payed in full for there actions.

I hear flea soap works....
