i know that Mctavish board are a touche subject round here, but anyone ridden a pinnacle? Got a chance to buy one second hand for a pretty good price, but not many reviews of them online.

Yes buy it, one beautiful ride I've owned 3 or 4 taken one to Hawaii and they are just so so nice to ride.

OK dont listen to me google Ray Gleave the god father of style his favourite board and has been for years.

Dims are 9'4" x 22 7/8" x 2 7/8". It won't be cheap (nothing in nz is) but will cost about the same as getting a basic white custom log from a local shaper. I'll hopefully get to check it out tomorrow and make a decision from there

yep that's the 15 % gst tax on a 2000 buck board ...

300 $ odd straight to the tax man ....

sucks all right..on a lighter note the MCtavs are really well made and hold their value..except for the THAI built epoxy models ... you won't regret getting one i'm on my 4th & a pinnacle is next on the list ..

Mate if I were you I'd jump a plane and grab one from McTs and bring it back

. I've done that a few times now , you'll get the tax back when you leave the GC Air port .

Mac in Hawaii how did you get your board from Airport to Hotel . I have always used Roberts for transfers but they wont take anything over 6ft

He had a big arse van with racks..

Speedi shuttle had a big van mate there were 5 of us no worries. Thats my 9'6 board .

Not yet, but I will! My car died a couple weeks ago on a drive to Gisborne, so have had to replace it. the seller has said that he isn't in a hurry to sell and i've some how managed to convince the Mrs that I made a commitment to buy and have to go through with the deal. So will just be buying a later than i wanted.

I'll upload some pictures when i get it!

Mate there is something wrong here.

The first photo with the board hanging on the wall is NOT a Pinnacle,its a Dirtnap the board also hanging could be a pin?

The three photos just above! Note logo placement.The top photo its places on the side the next
photo its in the centre.Two different boards.

The guy selling it is the local importer of Mctavish boards so he has a few and the pinnacle that he is selling me is one of his own personal boards.

The first pic he sent may have been a mistake, I hadn't even noticed to be honest. The dirtnap is a nice board, felt it up when i visited his show room but I can't afford a new one.
