Hey guys, I'm the destroyer and I surf down at the local goldie points. My main ride is a 9'3x23'x3 ignition/evolve all rounder single fin.
What do you guys think about this board as an "all rounder" for the area I surf? Although I would still use my longboard in the weak stuff but the mctavish for when it gets punchy like the last few days. Could it possibly be used as a one board quiver? Heres a link

No, that is not I. What do you think about the board. There is no info about it anywhere. Can you ask bob for me about the capabilities and limits of this board?
Cheers Macaha for the link. Those latest G2's look serious. Originally I was looking for another HP, like my old ECS comp mal but in either 9"0 or 8'9 but I would prefer it with a more pulled in nose.
Tux, a custom is my other option but I do like the width and outline of the G2 in my link. So many decisions .

Post a pic of your current board mate so I can say hello in the the water next time I see you

Nice looking McTavish, but from Mac's McTavish link it looks more specialised (great in big clean down the line waves) than something for general use. It might be ideal a couple of times a year in Qld, but there would be better options for more regular use.
Is your name Des R Toyer (or did you spell your avatar incorrectly)?
There was a nice looking 9'6 G2 for sale on Gumtree a week or so ago. Would have really handy this week, even this morning the sweep looked pretty crazy. Start in 4223 & end up in 4221!
I read Bob's rundown of the board and how paddling out to Wategos he noticed the nose was out of the water, by dropping the rocker profile and flattening the board it paddled so much better and allowed earlier entry. Countered by the tail rocker to assist with the drop.
Pretty sure the sequence of Bob getting shacked at Boulders a few years back he was on a G2.
The description on the ad seems pretty good. My 2c it sounds and looks like a big shortboard. If you are going to stand on the back and surf it. Then it could be good.
Can almost be the one board quiver... The ultimate 1 board quiver is in fact the blend between the Pinnacle and the G2 Gun. Which is my Occasional Pin...
The standard 9'6 Pinnacle has too much nose area and volume to handle the big waves. The standard G2 has a little too much taken out of the rails, and too little nose area, to handle small waves. My Occasional Pin is in between... Not too much width or nose area, but great volume to paddle into bigger things, and clean curves to handle lots of different types of drops... The Magic Board...
Get onto Google and Youtube, and search "McTavish Reviews", etc... I loaded a few video's up a while back... Give me a shout if you want to go over something in more detail...
If you are a Longboard enthusiast, give Bob a shout, and talk to him, and get reference "The Occasional Pin"... Oh, the one posted was only 8 foot. Just depends on what length you enjoy, and your paddle strength...
My 9'0 Fun Gun from Bob is also extremely versatile... The light blue thing in my Avatar...

This is the nearest thing to a 1 board quiver, for me... But anyone's taste in waves and boards will change... But this board surfs really really well in knee high, through as big as you can handle...
But the Speed Shape is a very close cousin... But my Blue Speed Shape is actually a Blue Ferrari! ;)... I mean, it's pretty much a blend between a G2, and a Speed Shape. Bob shaped it by hand, after a bit of a chat with him... The template and rocker provide a very solid feel for down the line speed, but drop the weight back over a rail, are it raises eye-brows! Impressive...
Doesnt stir me up at all. Just find it funny that they use fashion shots to sell boards.. Do any surfers think oh yeah im getting a board of Bob after seeing that.. Not any that I know. Probably has the opposite effect..
