I got carried away over Easter and bought a 9'6" redline and surfed it twice and remembered that I am crap at cross stepping and better off staying at the back of the board or getting a log with the squashed rails that turns much easier.

I have only used it over Easter and realise that I will never use it as it deserves.

I thought I would see if any of you guys were interested in buying it before I officially put it on the market. I am at work so I haven't taken a photo but it is the same colour as the 10 ft one on the McT site at the moment so I copied those so you have an idea. It is a very pretty board and I should put it on the wall but it deserves better and I could use the cash for another board.

If you are interested I will post actual photos. I am based in Brisbane. I paid $1550 plus transport for it. I figure $1200 ought to be fair enough for an almost new board.

Mate,if the UFO is your only other board I would think twice about flicking the Redline.
Screw the cross step if you must, but mate its a total trimmer in small, chest high or those lumpy chopped days.

Great board,9.6 x ? x ?

Hey send my a PM and I'll get the team together

I wouldn't be flicking the Redline in favour of a softer railed log. The Redline would be far more versatile than a flat heavy log. I would ride it more to get the feel of it.

Totally agree with smh,I struggled big time on three Redines,I just did not give it the time but lack of waves for over a month soon sorted any issue I had,its a great board and a trim machine down the line weapon.

Whack a 9 inch fin in it and it will change your mind

Agree dont shunt it.I picked up my custom fireball at the factory and they had a beautiful aqua tint redline 96x23x3 in the rack so I spent some more holiday money and bought it.Both boards are fantastic in the right conditions. You need to have your back foot more over the fin to turn the redline but you can still carve up the wave with it.The fireball has a bit more rocker so you dont have to be right at the back to turn it.Both these boards are up there with the best mals I have owned.

Sorry for the delay in replying, work is getting in the way of my dreaming of surfing. I got home too late last night to pull the beast out but I think it is 9'6" x 23 x 3"

You will have to excuse my ignorance but what does the change in fin do? Is the factory fin no good?

I had a 9'6" tuflite Fireball before this. It paddled like a dream but was too corky in the waves. I got rid of it to get the Redline and the UFO.

Admittedly on my attempts to surf it the surf was typical Noosa crowded but small and I was frustrated with the board I guess being so different. Alot more moving around to turn and not as fast as I hoped.

While I was there I tried a blokes bashed up (9' 4" "pig" style with narrow "squashed" rails -I think I cannot remember) board and it seemed to be heaps faster and more manoueverable. It really responded to trim and I think was volane cloth. It was good for my less than co-ordinated ability

I was going to see if I could track down what it was and see if I might source one myself instead. I guess horses for courses. I will see what I can find out and let you know.

MrA,if you can borrow a 9 inch fin it will loosen the redline up and it may change your mind before off loading it.At 9.6 x 23 x 3 you should have no trouble selling it,asea a forum member would probably be thinking about your redline (i know he wants one)

The factory fin is 10 inch's which is good for drive but I found it a beast to turn so dropped a 9 inch in and it changed my view to the better on the redline.Wiz who makes and works for mct would have to be one of the best fin makers around.
