"The Original" is actually one of Bob's proudest inventions...
http://www.mctavish.com.au/surfboard/original

Here's the long list of features;
Usually 9'1 or longer, so it's long enough to Nose Ride
3 Stage Rocker - nose lift is forgiving in steeper beach break surf (Bob spends a bit of time on beachie peaks, trying to get some waves to himself - no crowds).
Increased Tail Lift also help you handle steeper drops... you can get the weight back, and lift the nose up...
Wide hips just in-front of the side biters, gives a nice pivot point, to aid turning.
Belly Channels up in the front third, to increase paddling speed
Single concave up at the nose, helps channel water under the board, gives more lift when paddling into a wave, also makes it paddle faster, plus when standing up at the nose, a bit of concave is often good.
Broom-stick diameter rails up at the nose, just the way Bob likes... gives nice bite and feedback when up at the nose

The pin tail can also handle a bit of juice... Looks good too!

Almost looks like mid-channels on it! A few of the old boys at the local have these boards and swear by them. I have never ridden one.

Yeah, they are great boards Ted.

I would say they are a Beach Break Specialist Longboard...
On Point Breaks, I think the EvoII is slightly better, and slightly faster.
But the Original, with extra rocker, and extra tail lift/kick, makes it more responsive in beachies, and maybe more reactive...

I've spent A LOT of time on both! *

* Unfortunately, I snapped the Original, and was riding the big Red Brewer for quite a while, before getting the EvoII... So I haven't done "back-to-back" testing!

Original has extra curve in template at tail, and extra curve in rocker, all over, and the tail... These increased curves let the rail fit better into tighter wave curves...

Fireball is a great board too.

If you surfed punchy beachies, the Original will be better than the Fireball.

Fireball is cruiser, and a better nose rider. Fireball would be better than Original in fuller waves, and fatter waves.

IF you are interested in the Original, Im pretty sure this is a close copy by Rodney Bedford, local SA shaper. This one is one Gumtree.

The description is ripped off from the McT website.
