Hi Guys,

Just joined and I need a few posts to get some pics up but I'm wondering if I can get some help figuring out what vintage it is?

Where do we start.?

It's 9'2, has the big M logo, glassed in fins.

Cheers, will post pics as soon as I have my reply count up.

The glassed in fins are green/red coloured leaves/flowers in tropical theme on transparent fibreglass from the looks?

Call McTAVISH they will give you a better idea than us but anything with the big M logo is over 7 year's old at least

Either way will be the best longboard you have ever surfed - timeless.

I've a 9'1 Fireball with Red X side bites brought 2nd hand in 2003. It was in reasonable condition then. Still my go to board today but has heaps of repairs since. It's number is 5260.

Cheers bnb, actually mine has had a couple of repairs. The previous owner got some rail repairs done.
There are some stress fractures which might need some attention but a couple of guys I know say, just ride it.

I've got some stress fractures on it.

Do I repair it now and be safer or leave it and risk it getting further damaged?

Everyone I've spoken to says just ride it.?

I heard back from McT. I asked for info and what to do about the stress fractures. will take it to a repairer; see what he reckons.

I would like to post a couple of pics of it in the thread. once I have proved I'm not a bot I guess.

From McT:

Nice find! It's a classic 90s fireball, performance longboard and a very popular one at that. One of our best sellers!

It looks like its in great condition and hard to see the stress fractures in the photos, best advice would be to take it to your local ding repair or surf shop for advice as it's easier to see in person. Typically stress fractures don't require any repair, only dings where the glass is fully cracked and leaking water require attention.

cheers

That's a lot earlier than this century . Beautiful looking board. How pulled in is that tail. I'll give you my kidney if you want to swap.

Looks like a ripper, pulled in tail will make that thing super fun in some, steep speedy waves - Yeow!

Yeah, I haven't been able to see any pics online of this style. Guess people must be just busy riding them instead snapping pics.

I asked McTavish the same question about my vintage Fireball (number #0153) and all they could tell me was "it's a really early number and we're up to 25982"
