Well, dog or not, I am the proud owner of one now.

Silver lining is that McT boards are highly prized here, and as a result hold their value more so than other brands.

I Shall report back with my attemp at a review once I've had a couple sessions on the DOMINATOR, hahahahah

I just didn't like it for a few reasons. First up I found it a bit thick and corky. It was flatter and didn't turn very well . After riding the Original in Tufflite , the Razar and the old Gleave model that they rebadged the Stylist I found them to be better boards for me to ride.
I only said in my view it's a dog and the fact that it's been discontinued suggests that it wasn't a very popular model. For some one else that's fine but not for me. I 'm just calling it as I see it. I had half a dozen surfs on it and swapped it for something else. I think I gave it a good go.
I'm not having a go at your purchase SUP cuz just giving you a heads up on what I thought of it and I hope it goes good for you but in my view if your looking at tufflites there are opportunities to demo different boards instead of going off the opinion of someone who might be heavier or lighter or whatever.
For me the Tolhurst 9'1 was a great board. Simondo likes his Brewer. Everyone likes different things for different reasons.

Sorry but in my opinion that board is a dog. Why has it been discontinued ?
Agree to disagree I guess.

Its the same board as a Fireball and that is certainly not a dog !
I believe it may have been discontinued simply because it was the same board as the fireball, and for the average surfer the fireball was slightly easier to turn and as such it. became the one that attracted 99% of sales - and, well something had to go.
Personally I believe that there arent any bad boards, whether PU or SURFTEC - some just dont suit our individual wants/needs/conditions or whatever - that doesnt make them dogs, it just makes them not suitable for the individual IMHO.

I agree with the last bit of that BB and I didn't mean to try and come across as too negative but I just reckoned the Original or the Stylist were better boards.
I do respect your opinion though and was very happy with your help and advice when I was hunting around for a $@&.

Hey mate - the 2 boards you mention are a prime example of what I mean about boards suiting certain people and not others. For instance the original tuflite is a board that Bob McT rarely took off the roof of his car for years - he just loved it and he surfed it so so well. Being as it was one of his fave ever boards I took our demo original out at currumbin on a reasonably solid day and I could not for the life of me get it to go at all and I copped some beatings I tell ya. i tried it another coupla times and got the same result - so for me the original is a no-go. As for the stylist - never liked the board in pu or tuflite and I just found it lacking in all areas and to be so boring to ride.
No - I am not writing off Mct - far from it - the biggest wave I have ever surfed was on a pu razar and I won a comp' in 1ft waves on rhe same board 2wks later, and yet its not a board I recommend or particularly like - it just works for ME and on the big day what worked was more important than what I liked. I also love the older fireball and its the first mal I ever got a full stand up barrel on - and that was a big heavy fat nosed and flattish rockered 9.6 ?
The other Mct that really stands out is Bobs own 8ft G2 - possibly the best board I have ever ridden and surfed it in 1ft beachies and a stomping alley and that board never put a foot wrong and made me look way better than I was - one in a million board that one.

Jeezus - how did this end up as a bb love-in for bloody Mct - stop getting me going on damn longboards cos they shlt me - I am a sup'er damn it !
