Hi there,

I hope this is the right forum regarding the McT Bobsled 7.6 slx.

I am a beginner (183cm tall, 90 kg light)and would like to buy my first board. I can surf parallel to the wave (more or less) but right now not able to pull off manoveurs. So far I only surfed Softborads or a BIC 7,9.

I would like to have a board that has volume to catch easily but I dont want a longboard. I guess the NSP and BIC funboard types would be the first choice, coz of the forgiving shape, robustness and the price. But somehow the McTavish Bobsled 7.6 caught my attention, may be its just their marketing. However, money is not the problem but I wonder if the Bobsled 7.6 would be shapewise a proper board for me.

Any help is apreciatted.

Thanx in advance.

Yes, great board for learning. Plus you'll really be able to progress with it as you get better. Go for it.

My only comment, try and splurge on a custom from Byron Bay with your own tint design. 2nd option, the new tints on the SLX are ok.

Welcome to the forum and you are in the right space mate, you'll find this board a lot easier to ride than any soft top board.

Many a good surfer rides McTavish I just haven't seen any at my local.

Except when you catch your own reflection... . However I hear You'll be seeing Asea goin top to bottom on a reactive UFO soon. keep your eyes peeled, his board looks like a smoke packet....

Thank you guys,

so I will go for the Bobsled.

As I am from Germany (just updated my profile) custom boards from Byron Bay are
not really an option. Well, you cant have it all I guess.

Cheers Kilmer
