Hi all, anyone have experience on shorter McCoy boards, especially potbelly nuggets? My current 7'1" Astron Zot is a great board, but at 78kgs I'm thinking a smaller one would be good- around 5'6"- 6'- for small summer waves.

I nearly bought a 5'9 laser zap last week but after looking inline at reviews just seemed like to much work to surf..

Having said that the nuggets get good review as do the zots but they seen to be by people who choose to pretty much ride that type of board all the time.

Lots off stuff on swaylocks and real surf about them. Just google it.

Get one!! I ride a 6'6" nugget. Possibly one of the best all round boards I've ever owned.
I don't know why you would want one for small summer waves, that's what mals are for!
I have ridden mine in some big lumps and the suckier the wave the better it goes.

I agree about longboards- have a couple- Surftech Billy Tolhurst and McCoy 9'2" allrounder-- but recently in Sth Oz we have had many days of blasting offshore winds- impossible to paddle into on a wide nosed board- esp Surftech- so been using the 7'1" Zot and loving the freedom to go where I want on the wave!
