Once the Master of the Apprentice.

Since he was five I started pushing him into waves,by 11 he was surfing Reef breaks with me in indo, year after year we would go until he started calling me into waves that I didn't want to go but did because I was the Master, until one day I didn't go!
That's when things changed! Man up I would always say until I nearly drowned (well in my mind ) I thought this is it which scared the sh-t out of me.
He surfs well not the best, but has always gone for the big stuff, over the years I've watched him from the shore the boat surfing some big stuff. We surfed HI in 07 and he had some heavies take him on in the lineup, this has happened in Indo, big strong men picking on the Apprentice.Well he has been stepping up his training over the past two years and now weighs in at 95 kgs full of muscle ripped at 601 tall.
He is off to chase his dream, yep he has gone to HI for the season.

I think he is now the Master,my son!

Nice one! How many boards is he taking? And what are his preferences on guns & semi guns?

(PS - I wonder if we ever pop up on ASIO's radar talking about guns!? ).

Great read Mac. Make sure u post updates with pics (so we know it happened ha ha ha)

I am yet to head there - for yrs I never really had that much desire as I am not a fan of the really big stuff and crowds so have been heading to other more out of the way places. A few of my mates went there a couple of yrs ago and had a ball and from what they told me it sounds like it's well worth a trip. They have changed my idea of it and so maybe one day soon I will get there.

In the meantime please post some pics so we can all be jealous of his mission and envious that we did not have the balls to follow our dreams to those islands. I always wanted to surf honolua bay - that place looks unreal. I have seen some footage of pipe at 1.5 overhead and it looks almost fun - although I am sure it's not! And even then u would need to sneak a wave off the local boys. Late season seems the go to me.
