Heya gang,

I've managed to pick up an old Mal thats seen better days. Its a 9'6 Single Fin Noserider, shaped by Mark Ogram at Yahoo in Dunsborough, no idea of era.

There's been a pretty horrendous home repair around the fin, but other than that its in decent nick and water tight.

Any advice on how to go about repairing/restoring it myself? I was thinking about getting the finbox cut out and repaired professionally, then having a crack at a self resto.

Tips, advice, abuse appreciated.

Nasty, looks like they put matting over the gloss coat with not much in the way of a sand, at least at the extremities.

I think you'll need to very carefully sand it back without cutting into the foam and the re-laminate a few good layers of 6oz, then the filler coat, then sand and finally a gloss coat.

There's lots of web sites that can help and searching swaylocks is a good idea.
