Had a Rip Curl 2x2 Core Wetsuit for just under a year when I discovered it was wearing behind the knees and elbows, like someone had nicked the material between the fabric, with 1 1/2 days left on the warranty took it back to the shop to be sent away.

Have been surfing in the old faithful (which everyone should have as a back up!) Cursing the whole time I was waiting for the new one or at least news on what the outcome was gonna be. Old faithful gives me rashes under my armpits, neck and has more holes than an American Flag salesman in North Eastern Afghanistan.

Good things come to those who wait however as Rip Curl have gratefully replaced my westsuit with an upgrade of sorts, stoked now and cant wait to put it on for the early session on the weekend. Love the feel of a new wetty..

Yes Ripcurl. I used them for years and got fed up this year when my third one in three years fd up again. My last good one from them lasted three years and it was pre eBomb, the Ultimate Elasto and it was awesome!!
So this year after total failure I bit the bullet and got the oNeil Phsyco II. Best wettie in ages imo!
I just got sick of send them back to ripcurl and getting a new one that did the same.
Warrenty is fine but when it happens all the time it gets to you and few mates were raving about how good oNeil was and they seemed to get a good rite up in the mags and it fitted perfectly. Here, have a look

I've had the rip curls for a long time now as well and wont be getting another. They are great when new and comfortable but they dont seem to last. Rip curl have always been god with warranty issues though but its a pain having to send your wettie back. If I was living down at Vicco I'd be having a look at the Patagonia suits. Have heard good reports.

My Ripcurl suits have alwasy been pretty good though the new E-bomb seems to smell a bit funny after a surf/wee combo....its good living just down the road from factory just take it in and come pick it up the next day if there is a problem...we are still in 4/3 hoods and boots down here...brrr

Must admit that the 2x2 was the most comfortable wetty I have had. Will see how this one goes but general theme is that Rip Curl are only made to last one maybe 2 seasons?

Hmmmmmmm...consumerism at its best/worst? Like a car that is designed to only do so many km before it dies and you have to buy a new one?
