8 foot + with decent wind direction (maybe a little strong) all weekend down here...board swap meet on Saturday as well...anywhere else looking the goods.......
Its getting there...bit onshore today...hopefully will get a wwave tomorrow before the weekend hordes arrive...at leats the size will keep the kooks in the carpark...
There's a little trickle out of the south here now but it should pick up in the next day or two. We've had 60 knots of wind here last night. I thought our roof was going to come off.
2-4 foot at 7:30am this morning...saw a couple of solid 5 footers around 11am...me and the little bloke will do a surf check this arvo but its definatly on the push
The Bay isn't really breaking yet, so it's not super solid, at the moment. We will wait for daybreak though !
I'll be happy with 1 big set wave at Bells with the 9'0 !! It might be windy and wooly though.... That's why I might be happy with 1 quick solid wave.... Take it all the way back to shore....
Forecast for Central Bass Straight - Great Torquay Area Forecast for Saturday Winds: Westerly 30 to 40 knots. Seas: 3 to 4 metres increasing to 4 to 5 metres around midday. Swell: Southwesterly up to 7 metres.
This usually means a slightly lumpy swell, but best in the protected corners.... I will get photos though Mac !

TORQUAY Effective From: Sat 9 Jul 07:54AM Surf: Clean 6-8ft Wind: Moderate NW Weather: Cold Swell Direction: SW Tides: Low 11:00AM High 05:33PM Rating: 7/10 There's a big swell 6ft plus with rogue sets at all reef breaks. Offshore winds early. Surf carefully and keep an eye on your mates. Main breaks experienced big wave surfers only. Low tide 11.07am 0.57m.
The wind is up here also. The swell is kicking in now too !
I might just have a muck about on a protected wave. Stiff off shore makes it hard work to paddle into the big ones. Shifty lumpy peaks on reefs too... So not many good rides happening.... One of those days where you need to be happy with 1-3 good ones, and plenty of paddling, and a couple on the head !
Theres some good waves here too ( NSW south coast ) plenty of swell with a lot of south in it. I just got back and my feet are freezing. Time for a long hot shower .
Its shame dotcom missed out on LM in its prime, maybe next time mate Nothing worse than the ocean not doing its thing when you travel a long way.Perth to Bali 2 hours,Perth to Queensland 6 hours.I'd be in Bali every long weekend.
