Just joined the forum and doing so as there really isn't much info out there on how the McTavish Rincon and Tracker perform. I'm looking for a mid length board to take to Telo and will also take a 6"4 hypto and maybe my 9"1 log. 105kg, 6"1 and have been surfing for 20 years. Any advice on how these boards perform?

Thinking 7"8 to 8" and would also consider a Bluebird around the 7"0 to 7"3 if that's a better fit.

Any advice?

Hi mate and a warm welcome, its well documented I love all things Mctavish, both boards are a little old school,is that what your chasing.

I've never owned or surfed either, but call mctavish and speak to either Wispy or Dave, both guys are great surfers and have ridden both for a while.

Don't take a log to the Tellos No need. And you might not get it there. Take two boards. Your normal one and one for slightly bigger stuff. If you want to take three - take two similar boards - for surf 2-6ft and something bigger for the big days. a nice 7'6" McTracker will do you well over there.

Cheers Ted and Macaha. I really like the shape of the tracker, I reckon the shape would be fun. Have been flicking through some pics of Telo and the waves appear quite full at some of the breaks, would prefer not to take the log if it's punchier.

3 people I know who have or have had trackers say they go well once it's 4 foot plus and with a bit of grunt.
