The Shewolf as mentioned before has more than blown me away. Had Jesse Shape it up with a view to stepping up in Surf from the 9'5" involvement. Idea was that id have it for slightly hollower waves from shoulder height to head height and from then i'd move onto something else.

The rails are really 50/50 eggy and pinched, if that makes sense, but there's this nice hard sharp rail blended into the tail section.

I was excited from when i first rode this thing in relatively small surf, then it just got better. Took it to Indo as a compromise given couldn't take the Mal (flying Jetstar), had it for small day's, and of the 3 boards i took, that was the only one that came out of its cover for 4 weeks away Surfed huge surf to fun surf, but the standout surprise for me was how well it worked at solid Padang Padang.

I swapped out the fin, to an Alkali 9' flex fin, pushed straight forward with the intent to edge it back slightly until i found the best spot, but haven't moved it a mm, even when it was huge, so may as well be glassed in that position LOL. All round surprise package and ideal for me with this 9' flex fin.

Just picked up this McCoy 8'2" nugget. Young fella who had a crack at surfing and decided it wasn't for him. A bit too much like myself lately to be honest.
If its not my thang I will put it up for sale.
21&3/4" × 3&1/4". Should paddle alright.

Probably most versatile board ever made for up to head high. Have one virtually the same except is 8'2". Ridden it more than any other board I've ever owned. Was considering this one myself but freight from Brisbane to Adelaide put me off.

Adventure before dementia...lol it is 8'2".
Took it for a test paddle at Nationals Noosa yesterday. Pretty slow out there but got a better sized one wide one that ran all the way from "The pot" to the end of the car park and it sat in the pocket beautifully and had plenty of speed to make sections that leave the commoners behind.
Hoots from the paddlers on the way through with sweeping arcs being the order of the day.
I like it.
Sure catches waves easily so a good board for Noosa and its ever present hordes of flotsam and jetsam that make me slap myself across the side of the head whenever I don't take a board with lots of foam with me to surf there.

Haha, it will have to be similar 'cause it won't be this one LOL. Its pretty well made so I don't think it will give up the ghost in the next decade or so but if it did I sure want to replicate it. In the meantime it will remain well within my easy reach :)

That board scares me - too much volume all round for my liking

I love the way a single fin surfs. Just my style I guess.

I used to think the same about the volume until I rode one then I had to have one. When you are as unfit as me and don't get to surf much volume is your friend. They are a heavy board and not everyone's cup of tea but they just feel right to me.

Sweeping arcs are about all that the heavy 8+ mcCoys are capable of.

Both those BGNs would benefit with some fin plugs to give a varied and improved performance.

The XF 8/0 with MR carbon sides and a GL size middle provides a board capable of being put into positions that a weighty 8ish can only dream about, as well as being able to do the long sweeping arcs when required.
